Two additional rules to know:
If you studied outside Kerala: You must produce an Equivalency Certificate issued by the University of Calicut confirming your degree is recognised as equivalent for the specific optional subject you are applying to. Non-Kerala candidates are eligible only for up to 10% of management quota seats in unaided private self-financing colleges.
How your merit rank is calculated: Qualifying degree marks are converted to a 1000-point scale. For Commerce and Computer Science optionals, PG examination marks are used — not UG marks. For all other subjects, degree aggregate or Part III marks are used.
Students awaiting final results can apply provisionally. Admission is confirmed after submitting final marksheets before the university's deadline.

B.Ed CAP (Centralised Admission Process) is Calicut University's official single-window admission system at admission.uoc.ac.in. It is mandatory for every candidate — General Merit, reserved categories, Teacher Quota, Sports, Defence, PwD, and Management quota all require CAP registration. No B.Ed college affiliated to Calicut University can admit a student who has not registered through CAP.
No. Selection is entirely merit-based on marks in the qualifying degree. There is no entrance exam for B.Ed or B.Ed Special Education at Calicut University.
The Trial Allotment is a provisional first list published before the official First Allotment. It gives candidates an early indication of their likely college and opens an editing window where preferences can be revised. No fee payment is needed at the Trial Allotment stage.
Permanent Admission means you are satisfied with the college allotted and want to confirm the seat. You cancel all higher-preference options in your list and pay the mandatory fee within the given window. If you do not do Permanent Admission, you remain in the pool for the next allotment round but risk losing your current allotment.
Physical Science, Social Science, Computer Science, English, Malayalam, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Arabic, Tamil, and Commerce. You select your subject stream during registration.
