Non-Kerala candidates are eligible only for up to 10% of management quota seats in unaided private self-financing colleges.

How your merit rank is calculated: Qualifying degree marks are converted to a 1000-point scale. For Commerce and Computer Science optionals, PG examination marks are used — not UG marks. For all other subjects, degree aggregate or Part III marks are used.

After registering for the Calicut University BEd admission on the CAP portal the admission process runs as follows:

Stage 1: Merit List

The university prepares category-wise merit lists based on marks in the qualifying examination. No entrance exam is conducted. Candidates are ranked separately under General Merit, SC, ST, OBC, and other reservation categories. Merit lists are published on admission.uoc.ac.in.

Stage 2: CAP Seat Allotment

Calicut University conducts B.Ed allotment in four stages — all results published at admission.uoc.ac.in:

  • Trial Allotment: A provisional list giving you an early indication of your likely college. No fee payment required — use this to review your allotment.
  • Editing Window: A 2–3 day window to revise your college preferences after the Trial Allotment. Your last chance to add, remove, or reorder choices before the official rounds begin.
  • First Allotment: Official seat allocation. If satisfied, do Permanent Admission — cancel higher preferences and pay the mandatory fee by June 25. If you want a better option, stay in the pool for Round 2.
  • Second Allotment: Seats vacated from Round 1 are reallocated. Same process — accept permanently or wait for Supplementary rounds.
  • Supplementary Allotment: Remaining vacant seats are filled. No fresh registration needed — your original CAP registration covers all rounds.
  • All parts of qualifying degree marksheet (Part I, II, III — all years/semesters)
  • Qualifying degree certificate or provisional certificate
  • School Leaving Certificate (SLSC)
  • Class 10 and Class 12 certificates and marksheets
  • Community certificate — SC / ST / OBC (current and valid)
  • Transfer certificate from the last institution attended
  • Conduct certificate
  • Passport-size photographs

No B.Ed college affiliated to Calicut University can admit a student who has not registered through CAP.

No. Selection is entirely merit-based on marks in the qualifying degree. There is no entrance exam for B.Ed or B.Ed Special Education at Calicut University.

The Trial Allotment is a provisional first list published before the official First Allotment. It gives candidates an early indication of their likely college and opens an editing window where preferences can be revised. No fee payment is needed at the Trial Allotment stage.

Permanent Admission means you are satisfied with the college allotted and want to confirm the seat. You cancel all higher-preference options in your list and pay the mandatory fee within the given window.
