The application of Biotechnology is an emerging discipline competing in the rapidity of its development and
popularity in terms of its uses for a better future. Research on novel trends of biotechnology gives ideas on drug
discovery, new materials, raw materials for processing industries and increasing productivity of food and health
care products. Faculty members and students in the field of biotechnology have the vision for a better life. It is
therefore appropriate that the young researchers especially students should be acquainted with the latest
trends in this discipline and their applications.
Film Appreciation Club
The innovative teaching practices at ABBS involves a very powerful medium of audio-visual
presentation in the form of socially relevant movies, documentaries and short films. The film
appreciation club was launched with an objective of enhancing the creative side of a student. It is
important as it fulfills the purpose of Infotainment, i.e., Information with entertainment. Education
should be an empowering process that allows and guides students to develop their passions, critical
thinking, compassion, and orientation towards wisdom for timely action. Visual media has gained
deep influence in the life of the people, especially the young minds.
ABBS pays tribute to one of the most enduring and universal industries with a presence in every corner of the
world and the most diverse product line imaginable that caters to every conceivable taste and preference. Yes,
it’s Movie Industry. The Film club is a student initiative here at ABBS. Students surely desire a break from the
monotony of the MBA life and the better way to unwind is by occasionally watching a movie with their peers.
The club intends to show movies in classroom/ Auditorium at the convenience of the students.

Objectives of Marketing Club
As part of their quest for co-curricular learning, a large number of students at Acharya Bangalore B School have
formed an association (FINANCE CLUB) that forms a stage for interaction of students, academicians and
professionals from the corporate world with a focus on finance theories and practice. Finance Club of ABBS
tries to take the students to the doorsteps of the professional world via the various options. This Club tries to
lend ABBS its version of Wall Street.
To foster and promote students' interest in the financial world, to act as a forum for discussing current issues,
and to provide students with knowledge and assistance in their career search and decisions

Department of Media and Communication launched a journalism club that provides a platform to the students
from different disciplines to interact with each other. It allows students to organize a series of events like
interclass debates, seminars, expert talks, exhibitions, quiz and critical analysis of current affairs. The Media
Club activities provides ample opportunities to students to showcase their talents too. The goal of Media Club

To Entertain:-It helps people to make their recreational and leisure time more enjoyable. Media content is
designed to appeal to the lowest, denominator of tastes.
The mission of media club is to promote the concept of media as a powerful tool which makes one think
critically, understand and develop skill that will equip an individual for meaningful communication career that
can empower civic life globally and across culture.
Book Review Club
Book Review club inauguration was held on 12/09/2016. The MC for the inauguration was Mr. Varun Kumar
.The welcome address was given by Mr.Shivraj.. The chief guest for the inauguration was Dr. H R Venkatesha
Director, Management Studies. Others who graced the occasion were Dr. Nila Chotai, HOD MBA-BU and our
beloved Prof. M Viswanathan, Faculty Co ordinator, Book Review Club. They were the key people who
encouraged us to take forward the inauguration program and the club activities. They addressed the gathering
and motivated all of us.
ABBS, Genetics Association known as ‘Genetic frontiers’ intends to showcase the role of genetics in the
advancement and betterment of society as a whole. The goal of this association is to highlight the latest
advancement in this field. The aim is to spot light the impact of developments in genetics research in medical
science, molecular diagnosis of diseases, pre- symptomatic detection and prevention of diseases, agriculture
and plant biotechnology, animal breeding and animal biotechnology, evolutionary biology etc. It also means to
invoke an appreciation of the dynamic and far reaching implications of genetic studies. It has active office-
bearing members who coordinate the activities of the club. The club focuses on indulging students in academic
oriented activities and has a practise of bringing a newsletter annually, with emphasis on current affairs in
Human Resource Club
Synergy is the Human Resource club of ABBS. The aim of the club is to engage and involve the student body
in activities which will enrich their knowledge, provide them with right experiences, develop industrial relations
and prepare them well for their corporate journey ahead.
- To identify modern approaches in human resources management and training the members.
- To groom the students towards excellence in work and life with better people management skills.
- To equip students with core leadership competencies and attributes.
- Establishing contacts between HR managers in order to share the information and experience.

Rotaract originally began as a Rotary International youth program in 1968 at Charlotte North Rotary Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA , and has grown into a major Rotary-sponsored organization of over 9,539 clubs spread around the world and 219,397 members. It is a service, leadership and community service organization for young men and women between the ages 18–30. ABBS-Rotaract Club was established in 2010, Sponsored by Rotary Bangalore Brigades, RI District 3190. The motto of the Club is ... “Servicing People” . It started with 35 members and today the human resource of the club is over 200. The Club is actively into Community Services ( eg.,organizing Blood Donation Camps), Social Services and various other activities for the betterment of its members as well as the country. The Club is headed by a President who is a student of ABBS followed by a Board under the president.
ABBS Toastmasters Club is one of the successful clubs of ABBS. Its main objective is to enhance leadership and communication skills among students which gives them the competitive edge to work in the high volatile market.
