The IIJNM program requires intense study for one year, and all students must preferably stay in college dormitory next to the campus, unless an exemption is granted. A convenient and modern residential facility is provided separately for both male and female students, with supervision by a hostel warden. Some faculty members may also choose to stay in the apartments provided within walking distance of the Institute.
The convenience of living within the campus gives students constant access to the services offered by the Institute. Often, students may want to work on their computers until late hours without worrying about a long commute. Also, when course assignments call for team effort, students are able to easily get together at short notice.

Kabaddi at the national level is a sport that is achieving immense attention and support. Originated in rural India, the sport is practiced and followed by the country with immense enthusiasm and dedication. But the sport has had its fair share of problems especially in the rural set up.
This master’s project focuses on Bilagi taluk’s perseverance to become a Kabaddi champion taluk and how it isn’t materializing. Bilagi taluk has 35 Kabaddi clubs and there are more than 150 ‘black tournaments’ that happen every year.
Every year, at least two players from Bilagi taluk represent Bagalkot district and more recently, there have been players who have represented Karnataka as well. Despite the increasing popularity and ever growing interest to play beyond Bilagi taluk, the clubs have received no aid with regards to affiliation, grounds and funds.
Watch my master’s project for IIJNM 2014-15, which focuses on Bilagi taluk’s pursuit to achieve excellence in the sport and goes beyond Bilagi taluk to understand where the problem vests.
