MDI Gurgaon Hostel & Fees Structure

Students Hostels

Students of PGPM, PGP-HR and PGP-IM stay on Campus and are provided with accommodation on twin- sharing basis in Change Masters and Kshitij. There is a separate hostel block for the girl students called Oddessy. Students are required to bring their own PC with LAN card. The rooms are provided with a bed, a study table, a chair, a cupboard and the usual fixtures. The students may bring their own mattress, bed linen, toiletries and locks for almirah and hostel rooms though these are also available in the student run Co-operative Store "Prayas”.

Executive Hostels

The executives of Management Development Programmes are accommodated in Parthenon and Nalanda hostels which have been especially designed to suit the needs of executives. The rooms are air-conditioned and are fully furnished with modern gadgets. The rooms are provided with Internet connection to facilitate extended study hours for the participants. They may bring their PCs with LAN card to fully capitalize on opportunities offered by the residential programme. Taksha Shila is also an executive hostel for the MDP participants and hosts reception halls, air-conditioned dining halls and air-conditioned and fully furnished rooms with modern amenities.

Students Activities & Clubs

Economics Club -

The Economics and Finance Club of MDI is not just a club, but a cult. It is a cult fuelled by intellect, passion for finance and the quest for knowledge. The club primarily monitors major asset classes along witht the economies of the world and comprehensively evaluates the spillover effects their policies have on the global economy. Its flagship events include Adhigrahan, a valuation based case study competition and Quibble, a quiz that was introduced last year. Apart from organising exciting quizzes and brainstorming discussions, this club works tirelessly to build the finance acumen of the campus and ignite the love for markets in everyone.


Operations Club -

Opsession, the Operations Management club of MDI Gurgaon, is the go-to place for the student community for all things Operations. Over the years, the club has actively engaged the students through a series of events and competitions to enthuse them into the field and is often touted as the most active academic club on campus. From resolving queries in the Operations Management area for academics and competitions to conducting events at college and national level, such as La-Ultimo, Opniscient, Oponomics, Warehouse; and through its line of publications, for example - Opstakes, Optonics and Just- In-Times, and by collaborating with the industry for live project opportunities for the students, the club keenly evokes a sense of inquisitiveness and competitiveness in the students. Under the stewardship of the chairperson of Operations Management Area, Dr. Manoj K. Srivastava, the club through its endeavours is striving hard to make life at MDI a great learning destination.


Technical club -

ThinC, the Business Technology Club of MDI Gurgaon, is an academic club of MDI Gurgaon that involves itself with the trends and developments in the fastest changing domain of the business world i.e. “Information Management”.
The club focuses on the happenings in the SMAC domain i.e. Social, Mobility, Analytics and Cloud – the hottest buzzword in Information Management these days. Being an academic club, ThinC focuses on disseminating relevant knowledge about Information Management via various means. From IT/ITES and Information Consulting to Product Management and Analytics, the club provides 360 degrees coverage of all major trends and innovations in business technology. The club organizes multiple competitions like PhalanX, Colossus and various other quizzes. Other activities include social media blogs, quarterly newsletters and an annual magazine. Sessions by professors and industry experts are organized by ThinC from time to time. The club also organizes various fun activities and other events.  It comes up with trivia and news from the world of technology in the form of Tech Bits every week on social media. It is also one of the most active clubs on social media.


HR Club -

Human Resource Direction (HRD) is the Human Resource academic club of MDI. The aim of the club is to engage and involve the student body in activities which will enrich their knowledge, provide them with right experiences, develop industrial relations and prepare them well for their corporate journey ahead. HR Direction is responsible for inviting corporate heads in HR domain having tremendous experience to share their expertise and knowledge with the students and help them gain insights about the management practices across sectors and their significance in the business world. The club also organizes competitions for management students across the country which is held as a part of Imperium, the annual management fest of the college. The flagship HR event Eleusis is spread across three days which sees a participation of around 500 students every year.

The club works hard to get in live projects for the students from the corporate so that they can experience and learn about the nitty gritties of the business world well in advance.

The club also comes out with its monthly magazine – Human Reflection with the aim of increasing the knowledge base of the student body with articles consisting of the changing scenario in the business world, latest HR practices and happenings. To aid the first year students with their summer preparation the club comes up with HR compendium which has extensive study material to assist them in their placements. Description of main events organized by HRd is as follow:

The Great MDI Treasure Hunt: Team HR Direction launched its annual induction event - "The Great MDI Treasure Hunt" exclusively for the first years. Apart from testing student’s analytical skills along with ability to optimize human capital in crunch situations, its primary objective remains to acclimatize them with MDI, which will be their abode for the next 2 years.

Elusis: The flagship event of HRd is Eleusis. This is a three-day event, organized under the umbrella of Imperium – the annual B-School Fest at MDI Gurgaon. The event comprises a multitude of sub events like Enthaa, Quest of Leonidas, Tarak and IR Challenge.

Nego Wars: It is negotiation event organized under an umbrella event Phalanx. Every year it is organized with a unique theme. This year the theme was a sponsorship negotiation simulation between a company’s representative and a college student.

HR Conclave: Club HR Direction conducted its first ever HR Conclave on 6th February 2016. The HR Conclave intended to bring industry stalwarts, corporate leaders, academicians and budding future HR managers on a single platform of knowledge creation and sharing. The theme for the first edition of our HR Conclave was ‘Reinventing HR: An extreme makeover’ in light of the transformational role of HR and its business impact in the current VUCA world.


Cultural Club -

Sanskriti is the Cultural Committee of MDI Gurgaon and it is responsible for conducting a number of festivals and Student events on campus. As a club, it is a house to all the artists on campus, providing them with facilities to practice and perform, or else, just to have fun. Sanskriti's vision is simple, to gift you with memories and experiences, that you will carry with you years after, even when you have forgotten every lecture you may have attended.


Entrepreneurship Club -

Strategy is an integral part of any business. Therefore it becomes all the more important for aspiring managers to not only study strategy in class room setting but also get their hands dirty. We at STRATEGIST help people in recognizing and developing their key skills. Whether you wish to specialize in finance or Marketing or you want to be an entrepreneur, one thing that you need to be is a ‘STRATEGIST’. Team Strategist provides such an environment to all the fellow members. We seek to retain, extend and leverage the interest of the students in the area of strategy and act as a pillar of the strategic activities in the institute. As strategy fits with all the functional areas- finance, marketing, IT, HR; it works closely with all other academic clubs to gain synergies and provide a holistic approach. All the members engage in various activities like M&A Vista, deals analysis, sector study, regular discussions on varied topics including consulting to develop strategic bent of mind. The club came up with Theoretical Compendium and a Case Book which act as a ready reckons.

Team Strategist also believes in team spirit which is polished through various games. Being member of strategist, apart from core knowledge, one cultivates expertise in event management, creativity, marketing of events, team building by being with few of the brightest brains in the country. Strategist is oriented to reach greater heights with the efforts put in by the students. The vision of the club is to grow to the stature of an independent consulting firm operating out of MDI.


Couselling Club -

IMpulse is the International Business club of MDI Gurgaon, born with the idea of gaining and sharing ideas towards cross-cultural knowledge. IMpulse aims at increasing knowledge and sensitivity towards cross-cultural issues, policies, developments and research through activities and magazines.

True to its agenda, this year IMpulse introduced new flagship event Advectius, held during Imperium, which saw a huge participation of 150 teams from B-schools all over India.

The team also floated live projects in finance, marketing and strategy for the students to gain valuable industry experience.

A collaborative quiz competition between IMpulse and W5H, the quizzing club of MDI, was held this year marking the beginning of a new culture of team work at MDI. The IMpulse compendium is a one stop shop document, dealing with issues and events covering the topics like International mergers and acquisitions, cross cultural complexities existing in various international firms, cross border legal issues that are encountered during international transfer of goods and personnel. With rising globalization, it is very much essential for young managers to be aware of these issues and deal with them with adequate attention.


Sports Club -

Sports Committee at MDI works with the vision to imbibe healthy & competitive sporting spirit in the students of MDI amidst the intensive academic rigour. It takes the onus of organizing sporting activities & ensures a student and faculty community, which are healthy & mentally and physically fit. Some of the best memorable moments at MDI are captured in the various sporting events. It conducts sporting extravaganzas mainly in the fields of Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Table tennis, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Carrom, Chess, Snooker/Pool & Athletics. The Sports Committee at MDI along with Sanskriti conducts “AKSHAYAM”, a Sports-cum-Cultural Fest each year at MDI with participation from all Top Indian B-schools.

I dont know about MDI, however, I can share the detail of LPU, MBA courses. Mittal School of Business is among the first 10 institutions in India to get ACBSP (USA) accreditation, Mittal school of Business ranked among the top 40 Management institution in India, as per NIRF ranking 2021. The curriculum is made keeping in mind the current market trends. The placements are 100%, and students have special placement-oriented classes that serve as a booster for students to clear the exam and interview. Companies like Hyatt, Ritz Carlton, Adani Wilmar, Altruist, Al-Rakha, Dharam Consultancy selected LPU students for International locations. The highest package availed is 21 LPA. More than 650 companies visit LPU every year for recruitment with an average of 5-12 LPA packages and the highest package was 21LPA. Every year visiting companies escalate in number and till date University has recorded the highest placements in North India.
