The University has an extremely modern and state-of-the-art infrastructure that goes a long way in facilitating a number of services for the students as well as the staff members spread over an area of 3,00,000 sq. feet. Hostel

Poornima University has 2 Hostel namely: Himalaya Boys Hostel and Gargi Girls Hostel, students with two lifts in each Hostel and a centralized girl’s hostel of Poornima University with more than 650 students. Students from 16 states reside in Poornima University hostel. Rooms are well equipped with air cooling system, mess facilities, canteen, stationery shops, ATMs, solar heated water, departmental stores, internet connection, laundry services, gym, indoor and outdoor games, caring wardens and tight security ensure a pleasant stay allowing students to focus on academics. The housekeeping staff is available throughout the week to take care of the cleaning of rooms, corridors and restrooms on a daily basis. All the hostels have facilities for emergency purpose. Hostels are well connected with the City Railway Station, Bus Stand, Airport, some of the youth prominent spots like World Trade Park, Gaurav Tower, Chokhi Dhani, Entertainment paradise etc.

Guest House

Separate guest rooms are also available for visiting parents/guardians. There are also separate residential apartments for faculty and staff.

Library

Poornima University’s library engages in strategic planning for the long-term, sustainable growth of the university’s collections, improve access to information and develop alternative modes of scholarly communication.

The university has gone ahead in making the concept of digital library functions with the availability of digital content to enhance the first-hand knowledge of the students at the university. A huge collection of over 15,000 books, journals, magazines and other reference material are available for the students. The University also subscribes to several reputed national and international journals pertaining to the prescribed curricula as well as general technology-related areas. Poornima University is also a member of DELNET which connects to the esteemed library systems of the country so that the students, as well as the faculty members, can refer to the collection in other libraries. Library also has IEEE, KNIMBUS, and GREENR online subscription.

Advanced Computer Lab

Poornima University has excellent infrastructure, including domain specific laboratories associated with the technical divisions. Industry leaders like Amazon, IBM, and Microsoft have established their laboratories in collaboration with the University. Major Laboratories include Theoretical Computer Science and Language Processing/ Open Source technologies/ Data technology/ Grid-Cloud Computing/ Software Systems/ Computational Intelligence High-Performance Computing/ Mobile Computing and Intel Multi-core laboratories and Image Processing. , All labs are equipped with the latest Hardware & Software for the up-gradation of education and upliftment of research for students to meet the challenging needs of the IT sector.

Automobile Workshop

Automobile Engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with designing, manufacturing and operating automobiles. It is a segment of vehicle engineering which deals with motorcycles, buses, trucks, etc. It includes mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety elements. The various labs and workshops encompass the vital aspects of Hydraulics, Machine Tools, and Heat Engines etc. The laboratories/workshops are fully equipped with complete set of latest equipment’s and tools, which caters to the need of the undergraduate and postgraduate students and has experienced technical staff from an industrial background. We also have the state of the art facilities in a central workshop with the Machine shop, Engine Lathe, Center Lathe, Carpentry shop, Fitting shop, Foundry, Fabrication shop, Welding Shop.

Construction Yard

Practice and experiential learning are critical to a robust Architectural & Civil Engineering pedagogy. At the Poornima University campus, a dedicated construction yard where the students learn by doing is an integral part of the education process.

Sewerage Treatment Plant

Poornima University, located on 32 acres in an arid area, runs a sewage treatment plant round-the-clock. Together it processes 150000 lakh liters a day. The plants use no chemicals in the treatment process. Their bioremediation is aided by Effective Microbes (EM) technology.

The treatment process is carried out in three steps. In the collection tank, EM is added. A removable grid screen traps stones, plastic and other solid waste material. From here, the effluent is pumped to the aeration tank. A mechanical aerator helps dissolve atmospheric oxygen into the effluent water. After a retention time of 24 hours in the aeration tank, during which microbes act on the wastewater, the effluent is taken to a settling tank where suspended solids are removed.

BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) tests are regularly conducted to ascertain the water quality. “While the BOD of untreated sewage is around 200 ppm, the BOD of treated sewage is less than 20ppm,” explains Sh. Hari Singh Shekhawat, Director (Infrastructure). To operate the plant, he has a team of one supervisor and one worker.

The treated water is pumped into storage tanks. Approximately 1.5 lakh liters of water that is recovered every day, is used for flushing of toilets and irrigating the extensive campus lawns and the gardens. In this way, water is injected back into the soil. This has helped recharge groundwater levels also.

Metrological Observatory

Architecture is closely linked to the natural world. A study in Architecture would be incomplete without understanding the geographical and climatologically phenomena. To facilitate this, Poornima University has an equipped Meteorological Observatory with the instruments and facilities needed to ensure that the students are trained and competent to handle this aspect of the profession as well.

Student Provision Store

Poornima University has a co-operative store in the premises where books, stationery, cosmetics and daily needs too, are available at reasonable prices.

Sports Facility

Poornima University has a sprawling sports ground and a hydraulic gymnasium. The spacious outdoor court has a capability of accommodating 400 meters standard track, including a lobby to play cricket, football, basketball, tennis and handball. To install the habit of physical exercise, a sophisticated hydraulic gymnasium has been added up with other facilities. The treadmills, vibrating belts and multi-gym apparatus adorn this new inclusion.

ATM & Medical Facility

Mess facility is an integral part of the campus which provides nutritious homely food to all hostellers, day scholars, faculty & staff members and visitors. It provides 4 meals a day – quality food is prepared under strict hygienic conditions. The food is served in the dining area keeping all the sensitivities in consideration.

• All the hostel mess serves Vegetarian Food only and operates in self-service mode.
• The menu of the items is designed considering the requirements of the students and nutrition is added to make it healthy and complete.
• We offer morning tea with regular breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and tea, dinner and milk to all hostellers.

Mess caters to the tastes of the students of different region and students with varied food preferences. However, there are certain guidelines which are to be followed while planning the meals. Mess menu is planned and managed by the management in consultation with the students.

At Poornima University canteen, students get various choices of dishes to get rid of the stress from the day-long studies schedule. With exquisite interiors and exotic menu, a well-furnished and spacious cafeteria is located in the heart of the campus. Most of the day, the canteen is chock-a-block with patrons looking to grab a delicious snack, a refreshing cup of coffee or a cold drink to beat the heat. In the late evenings, the canteen acts as an alternate eating place for those desiring a change from the regular mess food. You will find several groups of students and staff engaged in deep conversation, enjoying a tasty, affordable Vegetarian Snack. The hostel is catered by the same canteen offering a variety of snacks available at reasonable prices in a very clean environment for the students.

Transportation

Catering to a large number of day-scholars, the University runs a fleet of 11 buses and 1 Van for the convenience of its students and faculty. Students are charged a subsidized transportation fee for this facility. The buses cover several routes in Jaipur. University places a high premium on the safety, hygiene, and punctuality of its transport system. The University takes great pains to ensure these key factors and has appointed a dedicated Transportation Department to monitor the performance of the service. In addition, the University has a fleet of cars and vans for backup transport. When some students are required to stay back late for training, workshops, extracurricular activities or organizational activities, the University ensures that their transportation is taken care of by this fleet.

The hostellers are provided transportation at very nominal rates throughout the year for coaching classes like GATE, Competitive Exams, and Programming Languages etc. The other facilities are Separate buses for staff and students, Bus facility for Industrial visit, Bus facility to take students to examination centers, Full provision of back up service in place to avoid any breakdown, Free Transport facility to employees.
