One of the premiere institutions in India, the Tilak Dhari PG College (Tilak Dhari College or TD College) was founded in 1914 as an English Middle School. It later received the status of a degree college in July 1947 with the affiliation of Agra University. The affiliation shifted to Gorakhpur University in 1956. It received the Post Graduation status in 1970.
