To be eligible for the Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree program at DAV College, Chandigarh, candidates must meet the following criteria. Applicants should have a Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 55%. Additionally, candidates must have qualified the UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/teacher fellowship or have passed M.Phil. with a minimum of 55% marks. Those who have completed their Master's degree through distance education mode are not eligible. The selection process may also include a written test and an interview conducted by the college.

- PG mark sheet or equivalent
- PU CET PG mark sheet or equivalent
- Birth certificate or any other proof of age
- Character certificate from the last attended institution
- Migration certificate from the last attended institution
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Passport size photographs
- Aadhaar card or any other government-issued ID proof
