Gautam Buddha University is spread across a sprawling 511-acre green campus in Greater Noida. Established in 2002, the university embarked on its academic journey in August 2008. Funded by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), GBU is a state-recognised university under the Uttar Pradesh Act (9) of 2002. The university is also recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the UGC Act and is a proud member of the Association of Indian Universities. 
Gautam Buddha University offers a wide array of academic programmes in the fields of engineering, humanities, social sciences, management and law. The university has received accreditation with a B+ Grade by NAAC and ISO 9001: 2008 certification from the Joint Accreditation System of Australia & New Zealand (JAS-ANZ). A diverse range of programmes are approved by various councils, including the Bar Council of India, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Rehabilitation Council of India, and the Council of Architecture, India.

Gautam Buddha University admissions are offered to a wide range of academic programmes, such as B.Sc, B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD, across its various schools. Some of the schools, like the School of Information and Communication Technology, have a high intake, indicating a strong interest in these fields. The School of Law, Justice, and Governance even surpassed its total number of seats, reflecting its popularity among students. However, other schools, despite having a significant number of available seats, saw fewer admissions.

However, the lower intake in other schools indicates a need for these disciplines to perhaps reinvent or broaden their appeal to prospective students. This could be an opportunity for the university to reassess and enhance its offerings to ensure a more balanced interest across all disciplines.

Auditorium: Gautam Buddha University has four school auditoriums, each with a seating capacity of approximately 300. There’s a central auditorium with a capacity of 2700 and is equipped with advanced audio-video systems. The campus building also includes three mid-size conference rooms, committee rooms, and multipurpose open areas.

Library:The Bodhisattva Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Library is the hub of academic and research activities at the university. It is fully automated with an RFID system and houses a vast collection of books and e-journals across various disciplines. The library, with a 2000-seat reading hall, aims to support the teaching and research objectives of the university communities.

Hostels:The university offers separate hostel accommodations for male and female students, with 5000 single-seated rooms and complete wifi coverage. Each hostel is equipped with a common room, T.V. room, reading room, internet room, indoor games room, gymnasium, and sports courts. Each room has an internet connection, and the hostels are supported by a solar energy system for hot water supply in winter.

Sports Facilities:The Eklavya Sports Complex, spread over approximately 47 acres, is equipped with state-of-the-art sports facilities, including an olympic size swimming pool, a practise track, and a world-class gymnasium. The university emphasises integrated physical and intellectual training to promote multi-dimensional growth among students.

Our Take: The modern facilities at Gautam Buddha University campus make life easy for students. The central auditorium with a seating capacity of 2700 is centrainly the USP of GBU. So, students willing to take admission do not have to worry about campus life as GBU modern and state-of-art facilities will make students life easy and learning interesting. 

Gautam Buddha University Internships & Placements

Internships

Gautam Buddha University provides its students with valuable opportunities to gain practical experience through its internship programme. The university offers internships with a monthly stipend of INR 3,000, allowing students to earn while they learn. Upon completion of the internship, students receive a certificate, further enhancing their professional portfolio. GBU students have been successful in securing summer internships at prestigious organisations such as NSIC, Graziano, Kantar Retail, CSIR, and TERI. These internships not only provide students with real-world experience in their respective fields but also open doors for potential job opportunities in the future.

Placements 

As per the NIRF Report 2022 for Gautam Buddha University placements, for the 3-year undergraduate programmes, out of 288 eligible students, 158 were successfully placed with a median salary of INR 3 LPA. In the four-year undergraduate programs, 240 out of 314 students secured placements, earning a median salary of INR 4 LPA. The five-year undergraduate programs saw 9 placements out of 42 eligible students, with a median salary of INR 3 LPA. For postgraduate programs, the one-year course had 5 out of 14 students placed with a median salary of INR 3 LPA, while the two-year course saw 152 placements out of 235 eligible students, with a median salary of INR 4 LPA. The integrated postgraduate program had 150 students placed out of 360, with a median salary of INR 4 LPA. These figures reflect GBU's commitment to ensuring successful career paths for its students.

Our Take: Gautam Buddha University’s internship programme, with its stipend and certificate, provides students with practical experience and a stepping stone to future opportunities. The placement record, as per the NIRF Report 2022, shows a significant number of students across various programmes securing jobs with decent salaries. However, in certain areas, particularly in five-year undergraduate and one-year postgraduate courses, placement opportunities should be maximised as the number of students placed is quite less when compared to the total number of eligble students.

Gautam Buddha University has a diverse student body, with the majority of students in each programme hailing from the home state, with a significant number of students also coming from outside the state. Gautam Buddha University is situated on the Yamuna Expressway, in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Greater Noida. The location is well-connected with various modes of transport. The IGI Airport is 56 km away, while the nearest metro station, Knowledge Park II, is just 7 km away. The Greater Noida Bus Depot is also at a similar distance. For those preferring to travel by train, the Ghaziabad Railway Station is the closest, located 15 km away.
