To pursue a Ph.D. degree at Mangalayatan University Aligarh, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria. However, a relaxation of 5% is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories. Additionally, candidates must clear the university's entrance examination and interview process, which assesses their research aptitude and subject knowledge. Those who have qualified for national-level tests such as UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, or GATE are exempted from the entrance examination.
