Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management was established in the year 2006 under the aegis of Nehru College of Educational and Charitable Trust. It is a private, self-financed college which is situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The college has been affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. It has been recognised by UGC and has also been approved by the AICTE, New Delhi. The institution was founded with the intention of becoming a well-known centre of excellence for management and information technology. The ultimate aim of this institute is to develop new generation technocrats and managers who are skilled in management and entrepreneurship. 

The Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management courses are offered to interested candidates at only the postgraduate level. There are a total of 02 courses offered to students in the stream of computer applications and management. All of the college courses are available to students in a regular, offline mode. The Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management admission is offered to all of its programmes based on a candidate's performance in the relevant entrance exam and the most recent qualifying exam i.e. graduate degree. The college accepts MAT or CMAT entrance exams for admission to MBA course.

Candidates must fulfil the minimal qualifying requirements established by the Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management in order to be eligible for the courses that are being offered. To qualify for both MBA and MCA programmes, candidates must hold a graduate degree in any relevant field from an accredited university. To be eligible for the MBA programme, students must also take the MAT or CMAT admission exam. The annual fees at Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management for the various offered courses ranges between Rs 60,000 and Rs 1.2 Lakhs.
