CMAT 2024 Predicted Question Paper: The CMAT exam will have five sections in total which include Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. In CMAT 2021, Innovations & Entrepreneurship was introduced as an optional paper with 25 questions and an additional 30 minutes. But in CMAT 2022, this section was made a mandatory section. The questions in each section have been reduced from 25 to 20 with a total of 100 questions to be solved in 180 minutes. The mode of the exam will be online and the total marks for the exam will be 400. There will be 5 answer choices for each section out of which candidates must choose the most appropriate answer. 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and there will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
How Did the CAT Exam Pattern Change Over the Years: The CAT exam pattern has remained the same for the last 2 years. The length of the exam was trimmed from 180 to 120 minutes in CAT 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with that, the time per section was reduced from 60 to 40 minutes, as per the latest CAT design. The exam slots also saw an uptick - from 2 to 3. The number of exam slots was expanded from two to three, and the number of questions was reduced from 76 to 66 in the following year, i.e. CAT 2021. Additionally, 25-30% of the questions will not carry negative marking.
