Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) is situated in the city of lakes and nawabs, that is Bhopal, in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The college was founded in the year of 1982 by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Government of India. In 2016, IIFM Bhopal was ranked 8th among the management colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
IIFM Bhopal was founded with an objective to train persons from the IFS, forest-related industries, forest development corporations, forest departments so that they can be well-equipped to take on the profession of management of the forestry department. The institute also focuses on sensitizing people towards the conservation of living natural resources and the role forests in maintaining the ecological and environmental balance. IIFM aims to create a pool of expert managerial consultants who can be available to both the private as well as public agencies and corporations.
