Sardar Patel University (SPU), established on October 30, 1955, in Vallabh Vidyanagar, Anand, Gujarat, under the Sardar Patel University Act, is a public state university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with an A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, SPU ranks 101–150 in the NIRF 2024 University category and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Spanning a 500-acre campus, SPU comprises 27 postgraduate departments, one constituent college (M.B. Patel College of Education), and 116 affiliated colleges across Anand and Kheda districts, offering 435 courses across 16 streams, including Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Engineering, Law, and Education.
