About Jnanabhumi Scholarship

Jnanabhumi Scholarship portal is an initiative by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to aid in implementing multiple scholarship schemes provided by various government departments. This digital platform was launched in 2017 to disburse the state government's Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, and other scholarship schemes previously offered through the AP ePass portal. 

At present, the Jnanabhumi Scholarship portal offers a Post-Matric Scholarship, Pre-Matric Scholarship, YSR Vidyonnathi Scheme, and Ambedkar Overseas Vidyanidhi Scheme.

Eligible students who are residents of Andhra Pradesh and belong to SC, ST, BC, Minorities, Kapu, EBC, or differently-abled communities can benefit from these schemes. Annually, the Jnanabhumi Scholarship portal facilitates the distribution of scholarships amounting to INR 5,000 crores to approximately 17 lakh students from diverse backgrounds. Pre-Matric Jnanabhumi Scholarship

The pre-matric Jnanabhumi scholarship is a government initiative in Andhra Pradesh that aims to help students from class V to class X and reduce the drop-out rates in the state. Eligible students from SC, ST, BC, and differently-abled categories can apply for the scholarship, provided that they are studying in a government or government-aided school, or a local body school such as Mandal, Zilla Parishad, or municipality.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students belonging to the SC, ST, or differently-abled category should be studying from class V to class X.
  • Students from the BC category can only apply for class IX and class X. 
  • It is mandatory to be studying in government, local bodies or government-aided schools.
  • The family income should not be more than INR 2 lakh per annum.

Rewards

  • Students from the SC, ST and differently-abled categories studying in class V to class VIII will get the following benefits:
    • Male Students: INR 1,000
    • Female Students: INR 1,500
  • Students in class IX and class X will get INR 3,500.
  • The government will provide an additional Jnanabhumi scholarship of INR 1,000 for book charges to class IX and X hostellers.

Post-Matric Jnanabhumi Scholarship

The Andhra Pradesh government offers a post-matric Jnanabhumi scholarship program designed to support students belonging to the SC, ST, BC, EBC, Kapu, minority, and differently-abled categories. The scholarship is open to candidates pursuing ITI, polytechnic, degree, postgraduate, or PhD degrees. The scholarship is disbursed under two schemes, and eligible candidates can receive rewards as per the terms and conditions of the respective scheme. These are:

  • Jaganna Vidya Deevena 
  • Jaganna Vasathi Deevena 

Eligibility Criteria

  • A student must be studying ITI, polytechnic, degree, and other higher courses in government, government-aided and private colleges affiliated with the AP state universities or boards.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 75% attendance in their classes.
  • The family income should not be more than INR 2.5 lakh per annum.
  • It is required that the family's land holding must not exceed 10.00 acres of wetland and 25.00 acres of dry land, or a combined total of 25.00 acres of both wet and dry land.
  • The family should not possess any property exceeding 1,500 sq ft of built-up area, including residential and commercial buildings.
  • The candidate's family members are not allowed to be government employees or pensioners.
  • If a candidate’s family member is a sanitary worker, regardless of their salary and recruitment status, he can apply for the Jnanbhumi scholarship.
  • The candidate's family should not own a four-wheeler, except for taxis, tractors, and autos.
  • The candidate’s family members should not be income tax payees.

Rewards

  1.  Jaganna Vidya Deevena 

As per this scheme, students will get a refund of the total fees, including tuition fees, special fees, exam fees, and other fees. The scholarship amount will directly be credited to the candidate's college account. 

   2.  Jaganna Vasathi Deevena

  • ITI students get INR 10,000.
  • Polytechnic students get INR 15,000.
  • Students pursuing UG, PG, or PhD degrees will get INR 20,000 for food and hostel expenses.

YSR Vidyonnathi Scheme

The YSR Vidyonnathi Jnanabhumi scholarship is a program that assists students in their preparation for civil service exams by providing financial support for coaching fees and other related expenses. It is a highly beneficial scheme that has already helped more than 65,000 students in the state.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Candidates should belong to the SC, ST, BC, EBC (except kapu), minority, brahmin and kapu communities.
  • The applicants should be willing to prepare for the Indian and state civil services exams.

Rewards

Candidates who pass the UPSC Preliminary and Mains examinations will receive incentives of INR 1 lakh and INR 1.50 lakh, respectively, from the government to increase the representation of Andhra Pradesh in Civil services.

Ambedkar Overseas Vidyanidhi Scheme

The government of Andhra Pradesh has initiated the Ambedkar Jnanabhumi scholarship for students seeking higher education abroad, to provide deserving students with global exposure and vast opportunities.

  • Students should belong to the SC, ST, BC, EBC (except kapu), kapu, brahmin and minority communities.
  • The applicants should be interested in pursuing higher studies in foreign countries.
