GMC Kozhikode, formerly known as Calicut Medical College, was established in 1957, as Kerala’s second medical college. The medical college is currently affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). The institute offers MBBS, MD/MS, B.Sc in Optometry, B.Pharm, and M.Pharm courses. The institute accepts NEET UG for UG admissions. The MBBS intake capacity at GMC Kozhikode is 250. GMC Kozhikode fees for MBBS is as per the government norms. On the other hand, NEET PG is the entrance exam for the PG courses.

GMC Kottayam, popularly known as Kottayam Medical College, was established in 1961 with a 50-student MBBS batch. The college introduced GMC Kottayam PG courses (MD/MS) in 1973-74. In 2021, a dental college was also established on the campus. Today, the GMC Kottayam courses list also includes Bachelor of Cardiovascular Technology, diploma, PG diploma, and PG superspeciality courses. The annual intake capacity for the MBBS programme is 150, and the admission is based on the NEET UG exam conducted by the NTA.
