Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is a state-level entrance exam, conducted and organised by JEE Cell of Odisha. OJEE is an offline (Pen and Paper based) exam, taken by candidates for admission into B.Pharm/ B.Tech (Lateral Entry)/ B.Pharm (Lateral Entry)/ PGAT for M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan/ M.Pharm/ MCA/ MCA (Lateral Entry)/ MBA/ Integrated MBA (5 years) courses in various Private and Government engineering and management institutions of Orissa. Options Other than OJEE 2020

OJEE aspirants for B.Tech admissions must note that they have an option to appear for multiple engineering entrance exams other apart from OJEE. A student can apply for the state-level exam, i.e., OJEE and national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main/ Advanced. On the other hand, there are various deemed universities in India, which conduct their own entrance exam for B.Tech admissions. For example, KIIT University (Odisha) conducts KITEE for B.Tech admissions. Similarly, there are various deemed universities in India for which the candidates can aspire for admission. However, if you are aspiring for admission under state quota or concession seat, appearing for the state-level entrance exam is mandatory. Deemed universities also offer tuition waiver or scholarships for top rank holders of the entrance exam.

Here is the list of various other entrance exams that Odisha B.Tech aspirants can take apart from OJEE -

JEE Main 

Earlier JEE Main used to be known as All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Only if the applicants managed to make a place among the top 1.5 lac candidates, then they could proceed for JEE Advanced. 

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 

Candidates must have qualified the Class 12 examination with five relevant science stream subjects.

In order to be able to appear for the entrance examination, the candidates must have secured 75% marks and the reserved category candidates must have 65% in class 12 aggregate. 

JEE Main Important Date

Date of examination - 6th January to 11th January 2020 

JEE Advanced 

The JEE Advanced is a gateway for 10,000 candidates to secure seats in Engineering Institutes pan India. This JEE Advanced is considered to be the most difficult entrance examination at the national level. 

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2020

Candidates will have to rank among 1,50,000 candidates of JEE Main 2020. 

JEE Advanced Important Date

Date of Examination - 17th May 2020

BITSAT 2020

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) has a similar difficulty level to JEE Advanced. So the same preparation can be utilised to appear for BITSAT 2020. 

Eligibility Criteria for BITSAT 2020

Candidates who have 75% aggregate in class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths combination will be eligible to appear for this examination. 

The candidates must have scored 60% marks in each of the subjects individually in Class 12. 

BITSAT Important Date

Date of Examination - 16th May to 26th May 2020

After appearing for the above-mentioned examinations the applicants would again be able to appear for OJEE 2020. Apart from these national level engineering entrance examinations, the applicant can also appear for several state-level examinations.
