About JCECE 2018

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) is a state-level entrance examination for the candidates who wish to take admission in various undergraduate courses offered in Jharkhand. It must be noted that in order to take admission into various courses, candidates will have to qualify JCECE as the admissions to various government/private/ universities affiliated under the JCECE Board are strictly based on the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) score.

JCECE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

It is important for all the applicants to check the JCECE 2018 eligibility criteria before registering for the entrance exam. Following is the eligibility criteria prescribed for appearing in the JCECE exam.

Domicile Requirement:

  • Applicant must be an Indian Citizen.

  • Applicant must be a Permanent and Local resident of Jharkhand.

  • Applicants will have to submit/show permanent or local resident certificate in proper format, issued by the competent authority.

Age Limit Criteria:

  • There is no age bar for the applicants who wish to apply for B.Tech course. Applicants of any age group can apply for this programme.

  • For candidates seeking admission in Agriculture and Forestry programme, the minimum age should be 17 years and the maximum age is 22 years as on 1st July of the year of examination. The minimum age of the candidates should be 17 years as on 1st July of the year of the examination for Animal Husbandry [B.V.Sc. & A.H.] Course.

Education Criteria:

For Engineering Courses-

  • Applicants seeking admission in B.Tech course have to qualify 12th /I.S.c or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

  • At least 45% marks in the above given subjects is a must. Applicants belonging to any of the reserved category must have at least 40% marks.

  • Final year appearing applicants can also apply.

For Agriculture and Forestry Courses-

  • Applicants looking for Agriculture and Forestry Course will have to qualify Class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology.

  • Applicants appearing in class 12th exam or equivalent exam may also apply for JCECE 2018.

For BHMS Courses-

  • There is no minimum percentage criteria for BHMS Course.

  • Applicants must have cleared 12th class exam or equivalent exam with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.

For Animal Husbandry [B.V.Sc. & A.H.] Courses-

  • Applicants applying for Animal Husbandry [B.V.Sc. & A.H.] course must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects.

  • Applicants appearing in class 12th or equivalent exam may also apply for the entrance exam.

JCECE 2018 Exam Pattern

JCECE 2018 exam pattern will give information related to the total topics and chapters covered, the number of questions asked in the exam, time duration, marking scheme as well as the section-wise distribution of marks. The exam comprises of multiple-choice type questions, wherein the candidates have to mark their answers on an OMR answer sheet.

Detailed Exam Pattern of JCECE 2018

  • JCECE comprises of total 150 questions.

  • JCECE 2018 will be conducted in an offline mode.

  • The questions cover subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology/Biotechnology.

  • Each question carries 1 Mark. For each correct response, candidates will get 1 mark. However, for each incorrect response, 1/4 mark will be deducted from the total score.

  • No deduction from the total score will be made if no response is indicated on the OMR sheet. If the applicants are not sure about their answers, they should avoid attempting such questions.

  • Duration of JCECE 2017 will be of 3 hours.

  • Language of question paper will be in English and Hindi.

  • The candidate get no marks for unanswered questions.

  • Marking Scheme for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subject Group- Candidates belonging to this group will have to answer 150 questions.

  • Marking Scheme for Physics, Chemistry and Biology Subject Group-Candidates belonging to this group will also have to answer 150 questions.

  • Marking Scheme for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics Subject Group-The total questions of the exam will be 200 for this subject group of the candidates.

  • There will be equally divided marks for all subjects.

  • 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer.

  • There is no deduction of marks for unanswered papers.

  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

JCECE 2018 Result Declared

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has announced the JCECE 2018 Result on 26th June. JCECE is a gateway for candidates to get admission in various Institutions/Universities of Jharkhand state. The result for this state-level examination has been displayed on the official website of JCECEB. To view the result, candidates will be required to enter their roll number.

JCECE 2018 result will display the marks scored by the candidate in each subject, total marks obtained, qualifying status and ranks secured by the candidate in the entrance exam. After releasing the results, a separate, combined and category-wise merit list will be prepared by the board according to the marks secured by the candidates. Later, qualified and shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.

Note: All candidates must note that the result of JCECE 2018 will be available online only, and no hard copy of the scorecard will be sent to the candidates by post.

How to View JCECE Results 2018

  • Log on to the official website of JCECEB and open the 'Result' tab.

  • On opening the 'Result' tab, you will have to choose your Exam.

  • As you choose an exam, a new page will open asking your Roll Number.

  • Enter your roll number and click on 'Search' tab to proceed further.

  • Your JCECE results 2018 will appear on your screen.

  • Download the result of JCECE 2018 for further use.

JCECE Cut-off 2018

The JCECE Cut-off 2018 will be announced after the result declaration. For taking admission in various colleges of Jharkhand, candidates will have to score minimum qualifying marks as per the JCECE cut-off 2018. It must be noted that the JCECE cut-off 2018 list will be prepared course-wise and category-wise. Candidates meeting the desired cut-off of JCECE 2018 will get admission in the institutes of Jharkhand state.

JCECE 2018 Counselling Process

The counselling process of JCECE 2018 will be conducted in online mode by JCECE for the candidates qualifying in the JCECE 2018 entrance exam. The counselling of JCECE 2018 will be conducted in various rounds, and shortlisted candidates will have to participate in all the counselling rounds. For the allotment of seats in various institutions of the state, the merit list prepared by the conducting body will be considered.

Qualified candidates appearing in the JCECE 2018 counselling, must note that the counselling will be conducted through a computerised multi-table parallel counselling in two rounds. In order to participate in the counselling rounds of JCECE 2018, candidates will have to pay the counselling fee through Bank Challan and carry original documents on the day of counselling for the document verification procedure.

JCECE Detailed Counselling Procedure 2018

  • The counselling for JCECE 2018 is based on the merit list prepared by the JCECE Board.

  • Based on the candidates overall results, the qualified candidates will be called for the Interview round.

  • On the day of counselling, candidates will be allowed to select the colleges and course stream.

  • Candidates participating in the JCECE 2018 counselling, will have to

  • bring certain documents for seat confirmation, along with the original copy of Aadhaar card.

  • After the seat allotment process is over, candidates will have to report at the concerned college to complete the admission procedure.

JCECE Conducting Body

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board is the conducting authority of the JCECE. It is a self-financed, autonomous incorporated body of State Government that conducts this entrance exam, for the candidates seeking admission in various institutions of Jharkhand state. JCECE 2018 Important Instructions

  • Applicants must fill only one application for JCECE. Applicants submitting more than one application will be rejected.

  • There is no refund of the application fees (full or partial) under any circumstances.

  • The applicants are advised to retain the mandatory information like Mobile Number and E-mail ID provided in the JCECE 2018 application form for any important communication/information.

  • All the instructions announced in the examination hall must be followed carefully.

  • The JCECE 2018 admit card is an important document, which is mandatory at the examination center. All the candidates are requested to carry two ballpoint pens along with the admit cards for the examination. The details of the test centers and other important instructions are mentioned on the admit card.

  • Any candidate who comes without a valid admit card is not allowed to appear for the examination.

  • Unfair means and practices during the examination will not be entertained. Further, any textual material (written or printed), (including bits of paper or any unwanted material) is not permitted inside the examination hall.

  • Electronic gadgets like calculators, digital watches, cell phones, geometry box, log tables, slide rules etc. are not allowed inside the examination hall. Therefore, the candidates are advised not to carry any of these devices to the examination centre.

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the exam hall. Also, tea, coffee, snacks or cold drinks are not allowed inside in the examination hall.
