Types of Scholarships
Indira University offers a variety of scholarships to cater to different student needs, ensuring equal opportunities for all. Below are the details of our scholarship programs:
1. Merit-Based Scholarships
- Category 1: Offers a 50% tuition fee waiver per year for the entire program duration, available to up to 1% of total student intake.
- Category 2: Provides a 25% tuition fee waiver per year for the full program duration, available to up to 2% of total student intake.
- Eligibility: Scholarships are awarded based on 50% weightage to HSC (for UG) or Graduation (for PG) marks and 50% to qualifying entrance exam scores. Recipients must maintain a minimum CGPA of 8 to continue receiving the scholarship.
2. Sports Scholarships
These scholarships reward outstanding achievements in sports at various competitive levels with the following fee waivers:
- Eligibility: Students must have won medals or participated in recognized competitions at West Zone, All India, National, or International levels.
3. Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Scholarship
- Details: Provides a 50% tuition fee exemption to 10% of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, regardless of caste.
- Eligibility: Applicants must submit valid supporting documents, such as income certificates and tax returns, during the admission process.
4. Dr. Tarita Shankar Girls Scholarship
- Details: Designed to support female students from the EWS category, offering partial tuition fee waivers based on merit, available to up to 2.5% of admitted female students.
- Eligibility: Based on merit and financial need, with relevant documentation required.
5. Disability Scholarship
- Details: Offers a 100% tuition fee waiver to one student per program with a documented disability.
- Eligibility: Applicants must provide valid proof of disability.
6. Wards of Martyrs Scholarship
- Details: Provides a 50% tuition fee concession to wards of defense personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, or NSG) who lost their lives in service.
- Eligibility: Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 8 to continue receiving the scholarship.
7. Ph.D. Research Assistant Fellowship
- Details: Awards Rs. 10,000 per month for two years to two merit-based Ph.D. students per school.
- Eligibility: Selection is conducted by the Indira University Scholarship Committee.
