Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is a public university situated in Wayanad, Kerala. It offers higher education to students in the streams of veterinary and animal sciences teaching, research, and extension activities. It was established in the year 2010 with the support of the Kerala Government. The university has been recognised by UGC and approved by AICTE. It  University Grants Commission recognition is held by KVASU (UGC). It is also a reputed member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Among its three faculties, which house eight constituent colleges, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University offers 10 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programmes in addition to the diploma, postgraduate diploma, and certificate programmes. 

The KVASU Wayanad courses are offered to interested candidates at the undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate diploma and doctoral levels. Some of the popular courses offered by the university are B.VSc & AH, B.Tech, MSc, M.Tech and others. The KVASU Pookode admission to the B.V.Sc course is offered on the basis of performance in the NEET UG entrance exam.
