MAFSU Latest Updates

The Maharashtra CET Cell is expected to increase the MHT CET 2026 application fee by ₹150–₹250 for around 19 entrance exams. Earlier, the fee structure was ₹500–₹600 for offline tests and ₹800–₹1,000 for online exams. The registration process for MHT CET 2026 is likely to begin in the last week of December 2025.

The MHT CET 2026 registration process is likely to begin in the final week of December 2025, in line with last year’s late-December schedule. For the first time, the exam will be held twice—in April and May. The PCM papers are scheduled for April 11–19 and May 14–17, while the PCB papers are expected to take place from April 21–26 and May 10–11, 2026.

The ICAR 2025 Round 4 seat allotment results for UG, PG, and PhD admissions in Agriculture and Allied Sciences have been released. Candidates must complete online document verification, rectify discrepancies if any, and pay the seat acceptance fee by November 12, 2025.

Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, commonly known as MAFSU, is a state-owned university in Nagpur, Maharashtra dedicated to fishery sciences and dairy technology. The university was established in 2000 under the State Act No. 1998 (MAH.XVII of 1998). It has a total of six veterinary colleges, two fishery science colleges, two dairy technology colleges, one wildlife research and training centre, and three Krishi Vigyan Kendras under its umbrella. 

MAFSU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The university offers a total of seven UG, PG, doctoral, and diploma programmes in the fields of animal husbandry, fishery sciences, and dairy technology. All these MAFSU courses are offered under its 10 constituent colleges. Students can apply for these courses online through the university’s official website.

The MAFSU campus is home to modern infrastructure and facilities that include a well-developed Students Welfare Section, an auditorium, a university Library, a Bio-informatics Center, and a training and placement centre. Over the years, the university also has dedicated itself to developing the infrastructure of its constituent colleges by building hostels, digital libraries, smart classrooms, and well-equipped laboratories, among many others. It also provides placement opportunities in various government and private organisations, and NGOs.

MAFSU Courses and Admission 2026

Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University is dedicated to providing relevant education in the fields of dairy technology, animal husbandry, and fishery sciences through its network of constituent colleges and affiliated institutions. The list of MAFSU courses inlcudes courses such as B.V.Sc and AH, B.Tech in Dairy Technology, M.Tech in Dairy Technology, B.F.Sc,  M.V.Sc, PhD in Veterinary Sciences, and Diploma in Livestock Management and Dairy Production. The MAFSU fees structure is quite reasonable. However, the university reserves the right to increase the fee structure at any time during the degree course by/up to 10%.

The MAFSU admission process is primarily is an entrance-test-based process. The university accepts a number of national and state-level entrance tests dedicated to technical and veterinary studies. These entrance tests accepted by Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University are MHT CET, AIEEA (UG), AIEEA (PG), NEET UG, and AICE (PhD). while NEET UG, AIEEA, and AICE (PhD) are conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), MHT CET is organised by the Maharashtra State CET Cell. the university provides admission to its various UG, PG, and PhD programmes based on a candidate’s performance in the prescribed entrance exams.
