The official XAT cut-off for admission to XLRI and other participating institutions will be disclosed by XLRI Jamshedpur. The XAT cut-off represents the minimum score required for entrance. Once the XAT 2024 cut-off is published, eligible candidates will receive invitations for counselling rounds. The XAT cutoff 2024 will be released by authorities in the first week of February 2024.

After clearing the XAT 2024 result, candidates should immediately prepare for the ensuing selection rounds. In the event of a subpar score, candidates should explore alternative avenues, including taking other entrance exams, considering private institutions, or seeking suitable employment. Some individuals may opt to dedicate their time to preparing for the XAT in the following year. Ultimately, the choice of the most suitable path should align with the candidate's personal interests and goals.

Apply for Admission to Colleges Accepting XAT Scores

XAT 2024 was conducted on January 7, 2024, with the results to be released on January 31, 2024. The exam serves as the common entrance test for over 160 participating colleges. Prominent institutions, apart from XLRI, that will accept XAT 2024 scores include XIMB, IMI, IMT, XIME, IRMA, MICA, TAPMI, Great Lakes, FORE, LIBA, BIMTECH, among others.

However, it's important to note that each of these colleges maintains separate XAT 2024 selection process. Students who qualify in the XAT exam must subsequently assess their scores against the cutoffs established by the individual institutions. Based on these cutoffs, they can proceed to complete the application forms.

Upon meeting the initial criteria, selected candidates will progress to the GD-PI and WAT rounds. The final merit list, crucial for admissions, is only determined after successfully navigating all these rounds. Importantly, candidates will be eligible for admission solely to the colleges for which they participate in the GD and PI WAT rounds. This ensures that they are admitted to institutions where they have demonstrated their suitability through these assessment processes.

XAT 2024 Selection Process: GD-PIWAT Rounds

The XAT selection process for the year 2024 is scheduled to commence in February. It will follow the release of the PI shortlist status and XAT 2024 Cutoffs by XLRI. The process comprises the following steps:

  • Initial Shortlisting based on XAT Cutoffs 2024: Candidates who meet the minimum XAT 2024 cutoff criteria will be selected for the subsequent selection rounds. These shortlisted individuals are required to complete the application form and schedule their XLRI PI round slots through the official website.

  • XAT Personal Interview (PI): The PI round is expected to be conducted online this year as well. An expert panel and members of the internal selection committee will conduct the interviews. This round aims to assess the candidate's personality, confidence, business knowledge, problem-solving skills, and awareness of significant current events.
  • Compilation of the Final Merit List: The final merit list will be created based on several factors, including XAT 2024 scores, GD-PI scores, Essay & GK sectional scores, work experience, and academic records from the past. The weightage given to each of these parameters may vary across different institutes based on their individual selection criteria.
