AP Visakhapatnam Diploma : Fees, Courses, Eligibility & Admission 2024

Overall: I used to go to Aryabhatta Polytechnic. It's one of the best polytechnic colleges in the area, with a really nice campus. The college is affiliated to SBTET-AP. In 2023, there were 300 seats available, with 120 for Mechanical Engineering, 120 for Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), and 60 for Civil Engineering. The total fee is Rs 72,000. You don't need super high marks in AP POLYCET to get into Mechanical Engineering. For other courses, the cutoff is high as compared to ME but overall it's not that high. A new course Diploma in CSE has been recently introduced.

Placement: Placement reports are not released which is one negative aspect of the university. There is no proper way to look into the overall placement graph. However, there are few numbers that were being released. Around 39 students were placed in ZTT and Foxconn. I didn't take part in the placement drive. Instead, I opted for higher studies like most of the students in our batch.

Infrastructure: The college is regularly updating its facilities. The campus is clean. We have a library that consists of department books, journals, magazines etc. The Mechanical Engineering department has a subscription of three national and international journals. We also have a Digital Library with 5 computers, 50 Mbps internet connectivity, 300 hours of MIT University lectures and so on.

Faculty: The teachers at AP Visakhapatnam are really great. They're friendly and know their subjects well. The practical classes were interesting and regular tests were being held which helped us keep our studies on track. We received individual feedback and guidance based on our performance in the test.

Hostel: There were separate hostels for boys and girls, with basic but suitable facilities like bed, wardrobe, table, chair, etc. The mess food is good. The hostels were well-maintained. Cleaning and routine maintenance checkup was held regularly. However, the warden was very strict with the in and out timings.

Overall: There has been a lot of speculation about the college and I felt it is important to share my experiences. Being an ex-student of Aryabhatta Polytechnic, also known as AP Visakhapatnam is one of the best polytechnic colleges in the district, not to be missed is its pollution-free campus. It is a new college and not much information is available about the college. The college is affiliated with SBTET-AP. In 2023, the seat intake was 300. I was a Civil Engineering student and our batch seat intake was 60. For other courses, it was 120. The cutoff is not that high as far as my knowledge is concerned. I got a low rank in AP POLYCET and luckily, got a seat in my preferred subject. The total fee is around Rs 72,000.

Placement: Placement in our college is not something I would boast about. Though campus drives are regularly held.. We had ours in March, 2023. However, the placement offers and packages offered are not at all attractive. Most of the students, therefore, prefer for higher studies, which was the same in my case. In 2023, around 39 students were placed in Foxconn and ZTT.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure-wise, the college is upgrading and including new facilities. The classrooms are spacious. The highlight of our college is the library. Even though the collections are comparatively less, the quality of the books and journals available are commendable. For civil engineering, we had subscriptions to two national and international journals. We have a digital library as well and internet connectivity of 50 Mbps.

Faculty: Faculty staff are very good at AP Visakhapatnam. They are polite and know their subjects well. I found the practical classes very entertaining. Our professors made it a fun class and learning got easy. But, I cannot miss out the fact that they are very punctual and strict, which is also important to maintain the class decorum according to me.

Hostel: We had separate hostel for boys and girls. The facilities were basic but perfect for students. Mess was available within hostels. I liked the food there, especially on weekends. During our time, hostels were regularly cleaned and the management was attentive. They would listen to our grievances and would act upon soon. At times, there were instances where electricity was an issue. However, during my final year, the issue was resolved.

Overall: Aaryabhat Polytechnic in Gaya is a commendable institution known for its commitment to providing quality technical education. Situated in Gaya, Bihar, it offers a range of polytechnic programs across various disciplines.
