Eligibility & Selection Criteria for Calcutta University MBA Admission 2026

MBA (General) and MBA (HRD):

  • Basic Qualification: Honours graduate (10+2+3) or Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Technology, Medical Sciences, or Professional Courses from any recognised university.
  • Entrance Exam: Minimum 50 percentile in CAT/MAT/XMAT/JEEMAT or other relevant UGC-specified national level entrance tests.
  • GD & PI: Shortlisted candidates must appear for GD and PI rounds for final selection.

For MBA (HRD), candidates with the basic qualification plus an entrance exam score are given preference, followed by GD and PI.

MBA (Financial Management):

Candidates must have qualified in CAT (2025) or MAT (April 2025 to March 2026). No other entrance exam is accepted. Shortlisting is based on a weighted score of:

How to Apply for Calcutta University MBA Admission 2026

Applications for all three MBA programmes are submitted offline. There is no online application portal for MBA admission at Calcutta University. The form is downloaded from caluniv.ac.in and submitted in person or by post.

  • Step 1: Visit caluniv.ac.in and download the application form for MBA / MBA (HRD).
  • Step 2: Fill in the form with personal and academic details, CAT/MAT/XMAT/JEEMAT score, and category information.
  • Step 3: Attach self-attested photocopies of all marksheets from Class 10 onwards, caste or reservation certificate (if applicable), and internet banking receipt of application fee.
  • Step 4: Pay the application fee via internet banking to State Bank of India, Calcutta University Branch:

The SC/ST/PH fee concession for application fee applies only to candidates from West Bengal. Candidates from other states pay the general category fee regardless of category.

Documents Required for Calcutta University MBA Admission 2026

Carry the following documents along with the completed application form. Self-attested photocopies must be submitted with the form; originals must be produced at the time of GD and PI.

  • All academic marksheets from Class 10 (School Leaving Certificate) to the most recent qualification, in descending chronological order
