For B.E/B.Tech admission, the institute participates in the TNEA centralized counselling process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Tamil Nadu. Candidates are enlisted in a merit list prepared by the TNEA officials based on their previous qualifying exam scores and allocated seats based on their merit ranks/positions. Similarly, for M.E admission, Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology participates in the TANCA counselling process conducted by Anna University, Chennai. For PG admission at Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology, the candidates must have a valid score in either TANCET or GATE exam. Based on the marks secured by the applicants in any of these aforementioned exams, the candidates are enlisted in a merit list and the officials carry out the seat allocation process based on the merit position of the candidates. Only candidates who fulfil the Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology admission eligibility criteria and participate in either of the above-mentioned centralized counselling processes are allocated seats. For ME admissions, the institute gives preference to those candidates who have a valid GATE score. The remaining seats are filled by candidates with a valid TANCET score.
