About JK Institute of Applied Physics and Technology
J.K. Institute of Applied Physics and Technology, also known as JKIAPT, is a public (autonomous) college established in 1949. Located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, the JKIAPT campus spans over 20 acres within the University of Allahabad’s Science Faculty Campus. The institute is affiliated with the University of Allahabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). JKIAPT is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is not ranked by NIRF but is recognized as a premier institution for engineering and applied sciences in Uttar Pradesh, with a strong legacy in research and education.
JKIAPT offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in the streams of Engineering, Computer Science, and Science. B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Sc., and M.Sc. are some of the popular courses. Admissions at JKIAPT are based on entrance examinations. The institute accepts JEE Main for B.Tech, GATE or Allahabad University PGAT for M.Tech, and CUET UG/PG for B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs.
The university has a robust placement cell that looks after the training and placement of students. For placements, JKIAPT has a placement rate of approximately 70% for B.Tech students. JKIAPT admissions are based on national-level and university-level entrance examinations. Students seeking admission at JKIAPT must fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the institute and appear for the entrance examination. JKIAPT Admission Dates 2025
JKIAPT admission is granted to students who qualify for the entrance exam and meet the college’s cutoff. Moreover, students also must meet the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. For B.Tech admission, JEE Mains score is considered, and the allotment takes place through JoSAA counselling, admissions for this year BTech courses are ongoing, JoSAA has released the cutoff for various rounds, interested candidates can check the result on the official website. For MTech admissions, GATE scores are considered followed by CCMT counselling. This year MTech admissions have already been done, for next year the registrations will start from August 2025.
