L J College of Computer Application was established in the year 1999. It was the dream of Prof. B. M. Peerzada, an eminent economist and former Dean, Commerce Faculty Gujarat Univerity,to establish world class professional system of education and research to meet educational needs of students not only from Gujarat, but from across India as well as from other countries. Today, this dream has become a reality in the shape of the L.J. Group of Institutes comprising 19 institutes offering diverse range of programmes from diploma programmes to undergraduate to postgraduate to professional programmes, and functioning from three campuses in Ahmedabad, with over 500 well-qualified and experienced faculties to train over 10000 students drawn from across Gujarat. L.J. stands for ‘Lok’ (people) and ‘Jagruti’ (awareness). L.J firmly believes in bringing about overall development of people. L.J. aims to develop its students into complete citizens who not only have the subject knowledge but also have the empathy towards various social, cultural, environmental and other such issues affecting our society. L.J. philosophy is firmly grounded in values such as honesty, transparency, camaraderie, solidarity and unity. LJ-INDUSTRY INTERACTION AND PLACEMENT CELL (LJIIPC) is a centralized training and placement cell across the L.J. Group of Institutes. The objective of the IIPC is to reduce the gap between industry expectations (practice) and academic offerings (theory) by direct involvement of industry to attain a symbiosis. All the Stakeholders, namely: Institutions, Industry, Students and Society stand to gain as it can be a win-win partnership. Exhaustive training is provided to the students which comprise of training session/workshop on various technical and non-technical grounds. Mock aptitude tests, mock interviews, lectures by Industry experts, Industry visits
Class rooms in LJ are fully equipped with modern facilities. Lectures are conducted through projectors which helps students to understand practical concepts in a better way. Class room teaching improves interaction among teachers and students.
The library aims at providing the necessary information and making them available to all the beneficiaries in the appropriate time as well as it seeks affording and organizing balanced sets of books and other information sources to go hand in hand the university curriculum and presenting them the researchers and beneficiaries using the both traditional and modern (electronic) getting back methods.
The infrastructure includes a library that is a veritable treasure of knowledge, with a 12-hours access. Students have access to the library for at least three hours every day over and above the normal working hours of the college. They are allowed to borrow up to two books at a given time. The facility to get photocopies of relevant reading material and question papers of past years is available to students at nominal charges.
