SC regularizes BDS Degrees of NEET UG 2016-17 Admitted Students

Supreme Court Regularize BDS 2016-17 Admission: The Supreme Court has provided major relief to students who were admitted to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses in private dental colleges in Rajasthan during the NEET UG 2016–17 academic year. These students were admitted after the relaxation of the minimum qualifying percentile in NEET, which later came under legal challenge. Considering that the students had already completed their course and obtained degrees, the apex court decided to regularise their admissions to avoid causing further hardship to them.

Dear Student,

Yes, you are eligible for admission to the BDS courses at the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Delhi, with a NEET UG score of 598. This government college is considered one of the best institutions for dental studies in the country. It is important to mention that the admission will not be based purely on the NEET marks. • Total seats available for admission at the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences

  • Performance of students in the NEET UG Exam

  • Overall difficulty level of the question paper

  • Total attendance of the exam

In order to take admission in Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course offered by MAIDS Delhi, you need to register for NEET counselling conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Your chances of getting admission are affected by number of seats at the college, number of candidates appeared for NEET, your NEET score and previous year cut off trends.

Dear Kritika,

Given that the qualifying cut-off for this year's BDS programmes was more relaxing than it was last year, it might be challenging to get accepted with a NEET score of 441 in government colleges or Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, in particular. However, we recommend you keep striving and go through the counselling process. Additionally, you stand a strong chance of being admitted to reputable private universities that offer BDS courses.

Hope this helps!

Dear Ajay,

Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences does not offer a B.Sc Nursing course at the institute. The courses offered by the MAIDS New Delhi are Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). The institute considered NEET UG scores for BDS admission while NEET PG scores are taken into consideration for MDS admission. At MAIDS, the medical counselling committee conducts the counselling for both the 85% State-Quota seats and the 15% All-India Quota seats.

Hope this helps!
