National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology does not offer MBA courses. The Government of India established the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) in 1982 as an independent organisation to supervise the expansion and development of the nation's hotel management education. The National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology was originally established as the National Board of Studies in Food Management, Catering, and Nutrition under the administrative supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture (Dept. of Food), but in 1984 it was transferred to the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Council's office is on its own campus at A-34, Sector-62, Noida (U.P. ), although its registered office is in Pusa, New Delhi.The Institutes of Hotel Management and Food Craft Institutes are places where academics in the subject of hospitality are taught and regulated by the Council. These institutes provide 11 (eleven) various professional programmes through the Council that can lead to the award of a certificate, diploma, postgraduate diploma, bachelor's degree, or master's degree.

Last year, eleven LPU students won Olympics medals including Neeraj Chopra, a Javelin Throw athlete who won a GOLD MEDAL for India at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 after 121 years! Bachelors of Technology, often referred to as B.Tech, is a four-year full-time course that covers different fields of engineering and technology.
