Regional Institute of Education - RIE Ajmer - RIE
Regional Institute of Education (National Council of Educational Research and Training), is situated in Ajmer, Rajasthan. The institute was established in 1963, proffers B.Sc, B.Ed, M.Sc, M.Ed, Ph.D courses. The National council of Education and research training was established in 1961 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India to prepare quality teachers in the field of humanities, science, commerce, agricultural and technology. Regional College of Ajmer was set up in 1963 but later on 1955 the institute was rename as Regional Institute of Education. RIE Ajmer covers many of Indian states including Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, National Capital Territory of Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It is affiliated to the M.D.S. University, Ajmer and its courses are recognised by the NCTE, New Delhi. It is controlled and managed by the NCERT. The management committee, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the affiliating university performs the advisory role on matters of academic interest. A Demonstration Multipurpose School (DMS) is attached to each RIE at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Mysore as a laboratory for preparation of teachers and for trying out innovative practices in school education and teacher education. These are also used as model schools in their respective regions. There is facility of teaching-learning from pre-school to senior secondary level in these schools. The Regional Institute of Education college has a well developed campus.
