Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, commonly known as Saveetha University or SIMATS, was established in 2005 and is India's foremost university in terms of teaching and research. Saveetha University admission 2022 is open now for UG and PG courses. Candidates seeking SIMATS admission to UG courses must appear for the national level entrance exams. Saveetha University admissions to courses such as BE and B.Tech is accepted through TNEA counselling, ME, and M.Tech are based on the TANCET or CET. Saveetha University admission to medical and dental surgery courses is based on the candidate's performance in the NEET exam. Saveetha University admission to the MBA courses is done through MAT/CMAT/CET. Admission in law is made through the Saveetha University Law Entrance exam/CLAT/LSAT, and for the other courses in disciplines like nursing, physiotherapy, allied health sciences, etc., it is done on the basis of merit.

The Saveetha University campus houses 13 institutions, classrooms complexes, student, faculty, and residential staff quarters, a healthcare centre operational 24 hours, and an administration block. In addition, the campus is well equipped with a sports ground for indoor and outdoor games, a gym, an ATM, a library, a mess, and shopping facilities.
Hostel - The Saveetha University hostel is spacious and well-furnished, with the availability of a large dining hall. Each of the seventeen hostels is provided with recreational facilities such as TVs, health clubs, indoor games, and PCOs. Each hostel has its own live-in warden and a faculty member who administers the accommodation. SIMATS offers accommodation to the applicants based on different factors. For example, there is a separate hostel for boys and girls. Two hostels are available for girls and boys.
Gym - The gymnasium is part of Saveetha University campus facilities. Students can take care of their health and fitness by using this gymnasium facility provided by Saveetha University. The gym is well equipped with exercise and training equipment. The gym helps the students stay fit and healthy.
Sports - The Saveetha University campus has outdoor and indoor games facilities for students' recreation, including basketball, badminton, tennis courts, cricket, and football grounds. The campus sports ground also has a running track. Saveetha University also promotes sports like weight-lifting, taekwondo, trekking, and mountaineering.
Cafeteria - The air-conditioned cafeteria facilities provided by SIMATS include Chinese, Indian, and South Indian cuisines. There is another split cafeteria available for coffee and snacks on the campus.
Auditorium - Saveetha University has 11 auditoriums, 4 simulation centres, 31 museums, 226 labs, 40+ seminar halls, lecture halls, committee halls, committee rooms, and training rooms. These are all used for academic talks, conferences, seminars, slide and film shows, demonstrations, lectures, workshops, etc.
Medical/Hospital - The health centre at Saveetha University, right from its inception in 2005, has been striving to provide comprehensive health care, i.e., preventive, curative, and promotive services, to students only. However, for SIMATS staff, there is also a healthcare dispensary on the campus.
Wifi - SIMATS has high-speed wifi connectivity in all laboratories, libraries, hostels, auditoriums, seminar halls, and even guest houses. The campus has been using the new standard for next-generation wireless technology for wifi networks so that the teachers, students, and support staff can easily access the data, voice, multimedia, and video conferencing services and research, e-learning, and business applications.
IT Infrastructure - Saveetha University has set up facilities for in-house use of e-mail, computers, and internet services for all students, project staff, and faculty members. This unit of the SIMATS offers a variety of e-services to the students in literature search, computation, and graphics.
Laboratories - SIMATS Chennai laboratories are air-conditioned and equipped with various modern instrumental facilities related to all the fields. They are sophisticated but well-equipped, so more than 40 students can perform their experiments simultaneously. The instruments available in the laboratory include UV Spectrophotometer: Double beam OD measurement, Magnetic Stirrer, Multi-parameter: 6 parameters, namely pH, TDS, ORP, salinity, temp, millivolt, hot air oven, and digital oven, rotary flask shaker, UV transilluminator, Dual Orbitex Shaker with compressor; and many more.
Convenience stores - The SIMATS campus has a few departmental stores to facilitate students' daily shopping.
Alumni Associations - Saveetha University has a collection of more than 80,000 alumni.
