To be eligible, students must have completed a full-time, on-campus BPT course programme at an institution/university accredited by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists. A qualified student must have obtained a minimum of 55% of the total marks for all applicants. Candidates currently doing their BPT internship can also apply, although admission to the training programme is conditional on completing their internship by August 14, 2023.

SMCPT Gangtok MPT admission is based on the students' inter-se merit based on the percentage of aggregate marks obtained in BPT exams. If two or more applicants scored the same percentage aggregate marks in the BPT examinations, the date of birth of the candidate will be considered, and the candidate who is older will be selected.

To be eligible, students must score a minimum of 60% marks for the general category or 55% marks for ST/SC/OBC category in Physics, Chemistry & Biology and a minimum of 50% marks in the English Language (for all category) in class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board/university.
