SRM University Chennai Scholarships
SRM University Chennai in order to encourage and support students, several scholarships are instituted to recognise excellence in academic, sports and deserving candidates. The quantum of scholarships and the number of scholarships are subject to change from time to time. SRM University Chennai is valid only on academic tuition fees and is not applicable for industry-partnered programmes. Every year, around Rs 30 Cr + aid is provided to SRM University students through scholarships.

SRM Founder's Scholarships
It is the most prestigious scholarship with a full fee waiver of tuition, hostel, and mess, plus a stipend of Rs 1,000 per month. It is offered to:
- Top rankers in B.Tech Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE)
- Top State rankers in school final
- Top rankers in JEE
- Exemplary Sports persons at the National and International level
This is provided throughout their programme subjected to meeting set performance norms.
SRM University Scholarships - Based on Merit
Students who have secured 95% and above in PCM or PCB in the qualifying examinations and also ranked amongst the top 15000 in SRMJEEE are eligible to apply for this scholarship having a value of up to 50% of tuition fee waiver in the branch they are eligible for at the time of counseling. The quantum and number would vary from time to time.
SRM University Chennai Scholarships - Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship (Socio - economic disdained)
The merit-cum-means scholarship is offered to students who are economically challenged based on their performance in the qualifying examination. This SRMIST scholarship provides 25% to 100% tuition fee waiver.
SRM University Scholarship for Minority Community
The scholarship for minority community is offered to students of minority community based on their performance of students in the qualifying examination. This SRMIST scholarship provides 25% to 100% tuition fee waiver.
SRM Chennai Scholarship for Physically challenged/Differently-abled
The scholarship for physically challenged/differently-abled is offered to selected students who are physically challenged/differently abled. This scholarship is a full tuition fee waiver.

Generally, the closing SRMJEEE 2025 cutoff for admission to B.Tech courses via the SRMJEEE 2025 exam varies from 9000 to 15000. Additionally, as per the eligibility criteria, you are required to have a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam. Generally, the cutoff rank for B.Tech Mechatronics goes up to 42000 in SRMJEEE exam. However, to ensure admission to the main SRM KTR Chennai campus, a rank of 37000 may not be enough for such competitive engineering programmes. We suggest you try out other SRM campuses and list of courses for SRMJEEE rank 20000 to 40000 during the counselling sessions to ensure admission.
