Decent College with Good Scholarship Schemes

Overall: Before sharing my experience, I would share that I was extremely lucky. I was a B.Com student and received a 100% scholarship in the first year as well as a scholarship for maintaining over 75% attendance. SCBIHE Lucknow offers upto 100% scholarship to B.Sc and B.Com students. Even though the college has been accredited by NAAC with a B grade, I am satisfied with the quality of teaching. Above all, the non-teaching staff are very humble and polite.

Placement: I was not so concerned about placements as I had some other plans. However, many of my friends were not happy with the college administration as they guaranteed them placements but in the end no placement was made. There has been no record of placements for the past few years.

Infrastructure: I was a part of the college’s Scouts and Guides and have taken part in programs like adoption of villages and slums for cleanliness and literacy drives, environmental conservation, AIDS awareness programme, pulse polio drive etc. The facilities are not grand but adequate like library , canteen, wifi, etc . The college offers transportation services but my experience in these aspect was not good.

Faculty: Faculty in our college is good and experienced. They are experts in their subjects. Our management subject teacher was very good. Overall, some of the professors are strict but they are always ready to help. Our Principal, Dr. Abha Khare was open to our suggestions and took care of some of our grievances personally.

Hostel: Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education has no hostels yet. Students from outside Lucknow stay in nearby PG or hostels. As our college is a government competitive examination center there are good PG options available. However, students from our class have expressed the need for on-campus accommodation to the college administration.

Overall: I am a Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education B.Com graduate. I chose this institute for the B.Com course since I wanted to learn both the theoretical and practical aspects of the programme. I got to know from the previous students that the college provided practical training which eventually helped during job interviews. The college provided skill-based training, polishing our knowledge of the topics. Also, we were aptly trained for higher education in fields such as accounting, finance and entrepreneurship.

Placement: Compared to the local B.Com colleges, the placements in Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education was average. Although we were well prepared for job interviews, the on-campus placements were mediocre. We had to opt for off campus placements through which I was able to secure a package of Rs 2 LPA from CTS.

Infrastructure: Even though the campus area is small, it housed all the necessary amenities. It had a library, a gymnasium, cafeteria, well ventilated classrooms, etc. The campus was also wifi enabled. The food was affordable, poha being the best of all the dishes as it was healthy and filling.

Faculty: Most of the college's faculty members were knowledgeable and helpful. The cases were interactive and there were frequent doubt clearing sessions held for us to better grasp the subject.

Hostel: The hostel and mess were clean and hygiene was maintained. The security on the premises was strict. There was a warden present all day and CCTV cameras were placed. The hostel building had standard amenities, good rooms, an eating space, a common room and a water purifier.

Great teachers but infrastructure was not so good at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Educat

Overall: In my opinion, the college is very good for students who wish to pursue B.Com. The teachers provided us with knowledge beyond the syllabus. The placements at this college is also great as many big companies visit the campus. The only demerit I encountered was the old infrastructure of our college.

Placement: After completing B.Com I joined my family business so I don't know much about the placement process. But from what I heard from friends, the college was very helpful for them. The placement cell conducts campus placements. Those who do not get a job from campus can opt for help in getting alerts for off-campus placements.

Infrastructure: The college does have all the important buildings like classrooms, labs, medical facilities, canteen, hostel, etc. But the buildings were old and needed some serious remodelling.

Faculty: The teachers for BCom at this college were very strict and they were never late for classes. They would also provide notes for struggling students before the exam. You can always approach any teacher during working hours. My favourite teacher was Urmila Verma mam.

Overall: I studied for three years at this college. I completed B.Com with 86% marks. The college gave me some of the best years of my life. The teachers for the B.Com course were very good at their job. There were six teachers for the B.Com course.

Placement: The placement cell of this college helps B.Com students to improve their soft skills. You can also request the college to get help in getting internship opportunities. Then they invite companies for placements. I went to higher studies so I did not participate in the placements.

Infrastructure: Our college campus was big and surrounded by a garden. The classrooms, office, labs, library, and other infrastructures were located inside the campus. The college canteen was a very special spot for us. Our friends group used to hang out there as the food prices was very low.

Faculty: The faculty for B.Com at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education has six members. They all used to teach us according to the timetable. My favourite was Sanjay Singh sir who was friendly yet strict when it came to studies.

Hostel: The hostel of this college has sharing rooms with triple sharing. Each floor of the hostel building has a separate water cooler. Rooms have beds, book racks, tables, an attached bathroom, and an almirah. Our hostel had a warden who was like a big brother to us.

Excellent academic standing, and a good faculty

Overall: The affordability of education was a major factor in my decision of choosing Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education. I opted for B.Com, since I studied commerce in high school and was familiar with the course structure. The fees for the three year long programme was Rs 60,000. Based solely on my 12th grades, I was admitted. I just had to complete an application form and make the fee payment, which included a document verification process as well. There were no significant problems during my course of study. From the faculty to the staff to the seniors, all were cordial.

Placement: The only thing disappointing was the placements. The students from our department received very few full time placement opportunities. Internships were provided at TCS Ninja, Avo, etc. The science stream students were hired mostly through the on campus placements. However, proper training was provided so we could sit for off campus placements.

Infrastructure: Although the infrastructure was not the best like other private colleges, it had all the necessary amenities for both academics and recreation. The security was tight inside the campus, there were guards and CCTV cameras for monitoring purposes. There were options for both indoor and out door games. The labs and library was well equipped.

Faculty: The quality of training provided by the Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education faculty members was excellent. They taught us about business laws, management, accounts, finance, and much more. Most of the teachers had PhDs and great knowledge about the field.

Hostel: The hostel fees were very nominal. It was Rs 4,500 per month. The dorm rooms were clean and proper hygiene was maintained. The hostel provided free wifi 24x7. Hot water was provided as well. The food was healthy and homelike.
