The Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), located in Chennai and also known as Vels University, offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes in 14 distinct subject areas. It is ranked first among 50 South India's Private Business Schools by Business World and fifth among the top 10 private engineering institutions in Tamil Nadu by Times of India Engineering Survey. The pharmacy programme at NIRF is ranked 52nd overall in India.In addition to MPhil and PhD programmes across 20 streams, the VELS Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) provides 49 UG, 45 PG, 23 diploma and certificate courses. Students at VELS University may apply forscholarships from the Central and State Governments (for SC/ ST/ OBC/PWD candidates) and scholarships based on sports achievement.
