TANCET 2020 Exam Pattern

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2020 exam pattern will be declared by Anna University on behalf of Government of Tamil Nadu. The exam pattern defines the structure and pattern of the test paper that the aspirants will face at the time of examination. The number of questions, total marks of the paper, sectional marks division, mode of examination, type of questions, time duration, etc., will be explained in the exam pattern of TANCET 2020.   • TANCET 2020 is scheduled to be conducted in the month of May 2020 in offline mode (pen and paper-based).
  • It consists of 100 MCQ (Multiple choice questions) questions.
  • The language of the paper is English.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
  • TANCET for M. Tech/ ME / M. Plan. /M. Arch, the paper will be divided into 3 parts accounting for a total of 100 questions for 100 marks while MBA and MCA have been divided into one part of 100 questions for 100 marks.
  • The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer, while 1/3 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • No marks will be deducted for not attempting questions.

FAQs

What details will be mentioned on the Admit Card?

The TANCET admit card will contain the following details: Name of the candidate, Test Date, Test City and Centre address User ID / Registration Number PWD/DA status.

Will I get sheets/papers for rough work/calculations etc. for TANCET?

Yes, but no electronic devices are allowed in the examination hall/room.

Will there be any breaks during the exam?

No, there will be no scheduled breaks during the test but candidates are allowed to go to the restroom by raising their hand to inform the test centre administrator.

What is the examination pattern of TANCET (M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch./M.Plan.)?

There are 3 parts to be answered in the question paper. Part 1 and Part 2 are mandatory; Part 3 allows a choice to the candidate to choose from the allotted 13 subjects.

Is it necessary to use the black ballpoint only?

Yes. You may use Blue Ballpoint pen also.
