TANCET Marks Normalisation 2026

Part 1 (Engineering Mathematics) and Part 2 (Basic Engineering & Sciences) are common for ME/MTech/MArch; however, Part 3 is different for all the courses. While evaluating the answer sheet for average marks, the standard deviation of raw marks varies for each discipline for Part 3. To maintain uniformity in the marks, normalisation of marks is done for all the courses. Check the formula for normalisation for the TANCET exam below:

N= 40+(10/S) x (R-M)

Where,

  • N= Normalised Marks
  • S= Standard Deviation
  • R= Raw Marks
  • M= Mean Marks

The normalised marks scored by the candidates are used to generate the merit list for the TANCET exam 2026.
