BITS Admission Test, popularly known as BITSAT 2026 exam, is conducted in order to offer admissions to UG engineering courses across BITS campuses. The BITSAT exam is conducted in two phases, typically around May-June. BITSAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

The BITSAT eligibility criteria differ based on the courses offered. Before registering for the entrance exam, you must go through the complete BITSAT 2026 eligibility criteria. For First Degree programmes except B.Pharm (Hons)

You must have qualified for your 12th standard exam from a recognized central or state board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Proficiency in English is required.

A minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects with at least 60% marks in each subject is necessary.

For admission to BPharm (Hons)

You should have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Proficiency in English is mandatory. PCMB students can also apply.

A minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (and Mathematics, if applicable for PCMB students) with at least 60% marks in each subject is required.

Additional Criteria

You will be eligible to apply only if you are appearing for the 12th standard exam in 2026 or qualified 12th in 2022.

If you have appeared in the 12th or its equivalent exams multiple times, then only the latest attempt will be considered.

You will not be eligible if you are currently studying in any BITS campus currently.

Admissions are purely merit-based. Merit is determined by the BITSAT 205 exam score. However, eligibility is subject to meeting minimum marks requirements in the Class 12 Board exam.

Nationality

Students with Indian citizenship are eligible to apply for BITSAT 2026 under the regular quota.

Students with a valid passport from any foreign country and SAT scores can apply for BITSAT 2026 under the International Student Admission Scheme.

There is no age limit to appear for the BITSAT exam.

The application fee will be different if you are applying for the BITS Dubai exam centre. Further, you should note that the Dubai exam centre will be the same for each gender but different for the exam sessions. The BITS fee for the session 1 exam will be INR 7150/- and INR 9150/- for both sessions 1 & 2.

BITSAT 2026 Admit Card

The BITS admit card acts as an entry ticket to the exam hall, and without it, you cannot sit for the test. The admit card for BITSAT 2026 will include your personal information, image, and signature, along with the exam date, timings, roll number, exam day instructions, and other details. BITSAT 2026 Exam Day Guidelines and Instructions

A day before the BITSAT exam you are advised to go through the exam day guidelines. These are important instructions that need to be followed by all on the day of the examination. Failing to abide by the BITSAT 2026 exam day instructions may lead to disqualification or barring from taking the test if deemed unfit by the authorities.   • You need to carry the BITSAT admit card along with valid ID proof and a passport-size photo to the exam centre.

The exam pattern of BITSAT 2026 will be released by BITS Pilani on its website along with the official brochure. As per the previous trends of the BITSAT paper pattern, the exam will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for 3 hours. The questions about physics, chemistry, and mathematics, in addition to logical reasoning and English, will be asked in the exam. Important Note: If you answer all 130 questions without skipping any, you can attempt an extra 12 questions if there is still time left. Extra questions will be based on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology, and Logical Reasoning, with three questions each. Once you select extra questions, you cannot change your answers to any of the previous 130 questions. The extra questions (a maximum of 12) will provide an opportunity for highly qualified students to score cutoff marks in the exam.

What is the pattern of the BITSAT exam 2026?

The BITSAT exam 2026 will be held in online CBT mode for 3 hours. The paper will have 130 MCQ-type questions. BITSAT 2026 exam will have 5 sections: Physics, Chemistry, English and Logical Reasoning, Mathematics/Biology.

How to prepare for BITSAT 2026?

To prepare for the BITSAT 2026 exam, you should prepare a timetable, study the complete syllabus, focus on important topics, do timely revision, work on your mistakes, etc. Solving previous year papers and mock tests is also important to score good marks in the exam.  

Is 200 a good score in BITSAT?

A good score in BITSAT is typically above 300 out of a total of 390 marks.

Are there multiple attempts for BITSAT 2026?

There are only two attempts in BITSAT 2026. If you have already enrolled at any of the BITS campuses, then you are ineligible to take the test. Admissions are made solely on merit, which is further determined by your performance in the examination.

I am open to attending any of the three BITS campuses. Do I have to apply for each campus separately online?

No, you do not need to apply for each of the three campuses separately. The BITSAT 2026 application form will be available for all three campuses.

Is there a provision for direct B.Tech admission without BITSAT score/ rank?

First rank holders of all national and state boards are eligible for direct admission in B.Tech course offered by BITS. 

Is BITSAT score mandatory for B.Pharma admission at BITS campuses?

If you are aspiring for B.Pharma admission in any of the campuses of BITS, you will have to clear BITSAT exam.

Dear Student,

66% in 12th is not enough for you to apply for BITSAT. To be eligible for BITSAT, you must have a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology subjects in the 12th Class, with at least 60% marks in each of the subjects (PCM/ PCB). We suggest you go through the BITSAT eligibility criteria to get an idea and stay updated on the latest eligibility norms laid down by BITS authority.
