Eligibility Criteria for MHRD Scholarships 2025

• One of the most important criteria is that you must be seeking a full-time degree at an accredited college or institution recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education, known as AICTE, and the respective Regulatory Bodies concerned.
• You must have scored at least 80% marks in the relevant stream from an authorised board in Class 12 or equivalent.
• Your family's annual income must not exceed the amount of INR 4,50,000 from all sources.
• You should not be availing the benefits of any other scholarship at the same time.

Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh

• You must be a resident of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
• You must have passed class 12th or 10+3 diploma courses from J&K board, CBSE, or J&K state polytechnic schools/institutions that must be resided in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh only.
• If you wish to study outside J&K and Ladakh, you are eligible to apply.
• The yearly income of your family must be not more than INR 8,00,000.

National Scheme of Incentives to Girls for Secondary Education (NSIGSE)

• If you are a female candidate belonging to the SC/ST community and currently enrolled in class 9th, you are eligible.
• You must have passed the class 8th examination from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and secured admission in class 9th in any local body, state government, or government-aided school.
• Only if you are below the age of 16 and unmarried, you can apply for this scholarship.

National Means Cum Merit Scholarship

• You must have secured admission in class 9th in a Government, local body, or Government-funded school.
• You must have passed classes 9th and 10th with at least a minimum of 55% marks aggregate or equivalent grades.
• Your family's annual income must not exceed the amount of INR 3,50,000 from all sources.
• If you are from the SC/ST category, you can expect a relaxation of 5%.

Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF)

For Direct Entry Channel

• You must have passed or pursuing the final year of a 4 or 5-year undergraduate or 5-year integrated MSc or 2-year MSc or 5-year integrated MTech or 5-year undergraduate-postgraduate dual degree programs in Science and Technology streams from IISc/IITs/NITs/IISERs/IIEST and centrally funded universities with a CGPA/CPI of at least 8.0 or equivalent.
• Along with that, you must have acquired a minimum score of 650 in the respective subject in the GATE exam to be eligible to apply for this scholarship.

For Lateral Entry Channel

• You must be pursuing a PhD in one of the PMRF granting institutions.
• If you have secured an advance with a master’s degree, you must have completed at most 12 months in the PhD program.
• You must have completed at least four course modules in the PhD program and be mindful of the fact that each of the modules has to be a full-semester course.
• You must have acquired an aggregate CGPA of 8.5.

AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls

• If you are a female candidate and have secured admission in the first year of a diploma/ degree program from an AICTE-recognized college, you are eligible to apply for an MHRD higher education scholarship.
• The yearly income of your family must be not more than INR 8,00,000.
• You must be among the 2 girl children of the same family.

AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme

• If you have a disability level of 40% or more, you are eligible for this scholarship scheme.
• You must have secured admission to the first year of a technical degree/ diploma course at an AICTE-recognized college or institution.
• The yearly income of your family must not exceed the amount of INR 8,00,000.

Commonwealth Scholarships in the United Kingdom

• If you have passed or are about to pass your undergraduate/ postgraduate degree, you can apply for this scholarship scheme.
• You must have scored at least a minimum of 60% in Social Science and 65% marks in Science.
• You ought to be below the age of 40 years.
• You must have enrolled in an MPhil degree that leads to a PhD at a UK university. 

New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships
