  • Aspirants found the NEET 2020 exam to be easier than the NEET 2021 paper.

  • Candidates can deduce that the NEET cutoff marks for 2020 were around 15,000, and the NEET cutoff marks for 2021 were nearly 20,000. The 5000 difference is equivalent to the 10 marks difference.

  • While exam factors were one of the reasons for this cutoff difference, the increase in the medical seats and the All India Quota going from two to four rounds also played a crucial role in totality.

  • Aspirants can clearly see the caste reservation benefits candidates and gives them an opportunity to get admission via NEET 2022 exam

NEET 2022 Cutoff - 15% AIQ Merit List

To those wondering, “What is AIQ?” and “What is the full form of AIQ?” The answer is that the full form of AIQ is All India Quota.

  • Every year, the NTA releases a 15% AIQ merit list along with the NEET cutoff to provide candidates admission into medical and dentistry universities

  • Candidates who score equivalent or higher marks than the set NEET cutoff marks (except for J&K) are eligible for the 15% AIQ

  • Aspirants from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana can also apply for admission to government dental and medical institutes even if their AIQ is less than 15%

NEET 2022 Cutoff: Tie-breaking Process

Since the NEET cutoff 2022 has been released, the chance of two or more candidates scoring equal ranks is a possibility. In such situations, a tie-breaking criteria is needed to make a sound decision. The below-mentioned steps are in order of preference that will be considered to break the tie of the NEET 2022 cutoff marks.

  1. Higher marks in Biology: Candidates who have scored higher scores/percentile in Biology (Zoology and Botany) will be preferred first for the NEET merit list when the NEET 2022 cutoff is released.

  2. Higher marks in Chemistry: If the tie still persists, then the higher marks/percentile of the aspirant in Chemistry will be taken into consideration.

  3. Number of incorrect answers: Lastly, if the tie is still not resolved, then the candidates with more correct attempted answers and less incurred answers will be allotted a better rank.
