Aid and Assistance Devices For Blind/Low Vision Candidates

Candidates who have a low and blind vision will get the following benefits under this scholarship scheme. 

• Laptop with screen magnification software
• Talk software for mobile phone accessibility
• Braille/Braille Typewriter
• Laptop with screen reading software
• DAISY recorder and player

Following are the important terms and conditions of this scholarship that you should be aware of. 

• The authorities will allocate 50% of the total scholarships to female candidates
• The scholarship will normally be awarded for two, four, or five years, depending on the allowed term of the program in which the candidate has been accepted to study at the covered institutions
• If a scholar is unable to take the test due to sickness or an unanticipated incident, the award may be renewed for the next academic year upon production of a medical certificate and other requisite documentation to the satisfaction of the Head of the Institution.
• If the scholars abandon their studies during the year for which the scholarship is provided they will have to return the amount of scholarship to the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India.
