Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship 2025: Eligibility Criteria

  • Class 9 and 10 students are eligible to apply. 
  • The annual income of the family should not be higher than INR 2,50,000. 
  • The candidate is ineligible to apply if they have previously received another centrally financed scholarship.
Post-Matric Eligibility Criteria for SC Students
  • The annual income of the family of SC students should not be more than INR 2,50,000.
  • Candidates pursuing postgraduate medical courses are also eligible, provided they do not practice medicine.
  • It is crucial for the candidates to have passed Class 10 and be enrolled in a post-matric or post-secondary course up to the post-doctoral level from a recognized institution.
  • Candidates receiving benefits from any other scholarships are not eligible.
  • The scholarship does not apply to candidates receiving pre-examination coaching with financial assistance from the state/ central government.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students
  • The scholarship is open to students studying in grades 1 to 10. 
  • The family income should not be more than Rs. 50,000 every year.
Post-Matric Eligibility Criteria for OBC Students
  • The applicants must be Indian citizens and members of the OBC.
  • OBC students' family income should not be more than INR 1,00,000 per year.
  • The Dr. Ambedkar scholarship Punjab only accepts applications from two boys from the same family. The female applicants, however, are exempt from this rule.
  • The applicants must have completed Class 10 and be enrolled in a post-matriculation or post-secondary programme up to the post-doctoral level at a recognized institution.
  • Candidates pursuing postgraduate medical education are allowed to apply as long as they will not be practicing during the duration of the programme.
  • The Dr. Ambedkar scholarship is open to applicants who are enrolled in correspondence or distance learning programmes.
  • The stipend during the coaching programme is not available to students getting pre-examination coaching with financial support from the State/Central Government.
  • The student applying for this programme should not receive any other scholarships or stipends.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities
  • Under this programme, students from minority groups such as Sikhs, Parsis, Muslims, Christians, Jains, and Buddhists are eligible to apply.
