Central University of Kerala Overview

Central University of Kerala came into existence in 2009 under the Central Universities Act 2009 (Parliament Act No. 25 of 2009). Approved by UGC and graded A by NAAC, the university has also been ranked fifth in the academic and research excellence category and first among the south Indian states. In a recent study conducted as part of the Top 20 Outlook-ICARE Ranking, CU Kerala is ranked 11th. 

Currently, there are 12 schools and 27 departments at CU Kerala offering around 50 courses in different levels of study. Central University of Kerala courses include MBA, BA, M.Sc, MSW, MA, M.Com, M.P.H, PhD, and so on. To talk of CU Kerala fee structure, on average, it ranges from Rs 10,000 to Rs 70,000 per year. Central University of Kerala Admissions 2024

Central University of Kerala admissions are based on entrance exams and interviews. For UG and PG courses, candidates must have a CUET score. For Phd admission, candidates must have a UGC/ CSIR NET (including JRF), GATE, SLET, or related exam score. A brief overview of CU Kerala admission to different programmes is given below:

  • Central University of Kerala UG Admission: Register for CUET. Apply online for CU Kerala UG admission. Attend the counselling session. Post selection, seek admission on the scheduled date and time.
  • Central University of Kerala PG Admission: Having a CUET score is mandatory to apply for CU Kerala PG admission. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CUET scores and called for counselling. After the declaration of final merit lists, candidates are to seek admission on the given date and time. 
  • Central University of Kerala PhD Admission: Only those candidates with a UGC/ CSIR NET (including JRF), GATE, SLET, or related exam qualification can apply for PhD at CU Kerala. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview or viva after which the final selection is done.
  • Central University of Kerala MBA Admission: MBA applicants must appear for CU Kerala entrance examination or have a CAT/ CMAT/ KMAT (Kerala) score. The final merit list will be prepared after the group discussion or personal interview.

Dear Student, Central University of Kerala Cutoff for MSc Physics last year was 53. So, we can expect the Central University of Kerala cutoff 2023 for MSc Physics to be in between 50 to 60. Candidates need to complete BSc or an equivalent degree with Physics specialisation to be eligible for admission. The selection to the course is strictly based on the CUET entrance exam.
