BHU BSc Nursing Admission Process 2026

BHU BSc Nursing admission follows the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) NEET UG counselling process — the same channel used for MBBS and BDS admissions at government institutions. Students must register on mcc.nic.in after NEET UG results and fill BHU as a preference during centralised counselling. BHU BSc Nursing admission process 2026 is given below:

  • Appear for NEET UG 2026: Register on neet.nta.nic.in and appear for the exam. Select Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as exam subjects. This is the only accepted entrance exam for BSc Nursing at BHU.
  • Download NEET UG Result: After NTA declares results, download your NEET scorecard and note your All India Rank (AIR) and category rank. These are used for MCC counselling seat allotment.
  • Register on MCC Portal: Visit mcc.nic.in when MCC opens the counselling registration window. Register under "UG Medical Counselling" using your NEET roll number and other details.
  • Pay MCC Registration Fee: Pay the non-refundable MCC registration fee of INR 1,000 (General/OBC/EWS) or INR 500 (SC/ST/PwBD) and the refundable security deposit of INR 10,000 (General) or INR 5,000 (SC/ST) as per MCC norms.
  • Fill and Lock Choice: During the choice-filling window, select Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU (Varanasi) → BSc Nursing as one of your preferences. You can fill multiple college-course combinations. Lock choices before the deadline.
  • Check Seat Allotment: MCC publishes allotment results round-wise. Log in to check if you have been allotted a seat at IMS BHU. Allotment is based on NEET rank, category, and choice preference.
  • Report to IMS BHU: If allotted, report to the School of Nursing, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi, with all original documents. This must be done within the joining deadline (usually 3 days for Round 1).
  • Document Verification and Medical Fitness: Undergo document verification and a medical fitness test at IMS BHU. Students found ineligible (documents incorrect, medical standards not met) will lose the seat.
  • Pay Course Fee and Confirm Admission: Pay the first-year fee at the IMS BHU accounts section. Complete hostel allotment formalities if required.

BHU BSc Nursing semester and annual examination results are published on the official BHU result portal. IMS BHU follows an annual examination pattern for the first three academic years, with results typically declared 45–60 days after the final exam of each year. The internship year is assessed through logbook and clinical competency evaluation.

  • Result Portal: Visit bhu.ac.in → Examination → Results. Log in using your Enrolment Number and date of birth to access your result for the respective year (Year 1, 2, or 3 theory and practical exams).
  • Exam Pattern: BHU BSc Nursing follows annual exams (not semester) for Year 1, 2, and 3 as per INC norms. Theory exams are held in April–May; practical exams follow in May–June. Year 4 internship is evaluated by the School of Nursing.
  • Grade System: Results are expressed as marks (not CGPA) — Pass/Fail in each paper. Minimum 50% in theory and 50% in practical separately to pass each subject. Aggregate below 50% or failure in any paper is treated as a backlog.
  • Revaluation: Students dissatisfied with results can apply for scrutiny or revaluation through the BHU Examination Section (bhu.ac.in) within 15–20 days of result declaration. Revaluation fee and process are notified on the official website.
  • Backlog Policy: Backlogs must be cleared in the supplementary examinations held in November. A maximum of 3 attempts are typically permitted per paper (check INC norms and BHU rules for the latest policy). The degree is awarded only after all backlogs are cleared including the internship.
  • INC Registration: After passing all 4 years and internship, graduates must register with the State Nursing Council (SNC) and apply to Indian Nursing Council (INC) for the nursing register. IMS BHU provides INC Provisional Registration Certificate guidance through the School of Nursing office.

Hi,

Yes, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) offers nursing programs, and admission is offered through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Depending on the course, BHU either conducts its own entrance exam or uses CUET scores as part of the admission procedure for nursing programs. To get accepted you must first apply for CUET using the official registration portal for the process. After passing the CUET exam, apply to BHU's nursing program by completing the university's application form, which may include additional requirements such as interviews or counselling sessions.

I hope this is helpful!
