BHU courses 2026 cover 612+ programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, diploma, and certificate levels at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The university offers courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Management, Education, Performing Arts, and Social Sciences through its 16 faculties, 5 institutes, 136 departments, and the Mahila Mahavidyalaya.  

Some of the popular BHU courses include BA (Hons), BSc (Hons), MBBS, BTech, LLB, MBA, MA, MSc, MTech, and PhD across disciplines. The university also offers diploma and certificate courses in languages, management, tourism, and environmental studies. The BHU Banaras fees 2026 will be in the range of INR 6,000 to INR 80,000 for the regular seats and INR 21,200 to INR 3,61,500 for the paid seats, depending on the program chosen.

BHU offers 612+ courses as of 2026, including 135+ UG, 350 PG, 135+ PhD and numerous diploma and certificate levels across 16 faculties. BHU UG admission for most courses like BA, BSc, BCom, BEd and many more programs happens through CUET-UG, while BHU PG admissions use CUET-PG scores. BHU fee 2026 differs based on the Seat Type. Basically, BHU offers 2 types of seats: one is the regular seats and the other is a paid seat. At BHU, regular seats have low fees but require a high cutoff to get in. While paid seats are an additional chance for admission, they have higher fees but a lower cutoff. During counselling rounds, students make their choice based on their budget and cutoff. BHU offer addition 15% seats for the paid seats quota. 

BHU UG total fees for BA courses start from INR 6,000, while professional programmes like BTech cost up to INR 3.2 lakh per year. BHU PG fees 2026 will be INR 6,000 – INR 2,68,000. The table below lists fee ranges for the major BHU courses:

BHU offers 135+ undergraduate programmes through CUET UG 2026. MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and other BHU medical courses admissions are through NEET-UG 2026. BTech at BHU is also offered through CUET-UG. Students can get admission to BHU after 12th by meeting the minimum eligibility requirements. For most BHU UG courses, it requires an 50% in Class 12 (45% for SC/ST).

BHU UG courses follow a 4-year undergraduate structure (as per NEP 2020) for most programmes. Minimum age for most UG courses is 17 years. Upper age limit: 22 years (general), 25 years for NEET-based medical courses. SC/ST candidates get 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.

BHU offers 350 PG courses through CUET-PG 2026 across disciplines, including MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, MTech, MFA, MPA, MPH, MCA, and more. MBA and MBA-IB admissions use CAT scores. MTech and MPharm at IIT BHU require GATE and GPAT, respectively. The minimum eligibility for most PG courses is a bachelor's degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).

BHU offers PhD programmes across all its faculties and institutes through the BHU Research Entrance Test (BHU-RET). First-year PhD fees at BHU are INR 2,410 – INR 6,310, which covers registration, library, and lab access. The major PhD disciplines are given below:

BHU offers 50+ diploma and certificate courses in languages, management, tourism, yoga, and allied subjects. Diploma courses run in both full-time and part-time modes, with most programmes lasting one year. Admission is based on qualifying exam marks. Annual fees for diploma courses range from INR 5,000 to INR 15,000.

BHU diploma and certificate admissions for 2026-27 are currently ongoing. At RGSC (Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Mirzapur), BHU offers the PG Diploma in Journalism & Mass Communication for graduates with 50% marks. BHU accepts multiple national entrance exams for admission across its programmes. There is no single entrance exam — the exam required depends on the course and level. Here are all entrance exams accepted for BHU courses 2026:
