Overall Birla College of Science and Education, now known as Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College is one of the good colleges in Kolkata. The campus is not big enough, but the faculty is quite good. It is a semi private college that provides courses relating to Science and Commerce. The session for commerce is in the morning while that for science is in the day. The college also provides B.Ed. course. The college is NAAC accredited. Annual sports are organized every year at the Calcutta University ground beside Red Road. Yearly social service program is organized under the NSS which is done for improving the local slums.

Placement The college offers non professional courses and thus no placements are provided to the students. Degree courses are offered in this college for the students willing to pursue career in teaching mostly.

Infrastructure The college building was initially comprised of small asbestos covered rooms for taking classes along with a a 2 storeyed main building at the centre for science stream. The college was later renovated to an amazing multi storeyed building. Washrooms are neat and lift facility is also available for teachers and students. Canteen is also available.

Faculty The faculty for all the streams available in this college is good. The teachers are mostly doctorates with amazing teaching techniques. The laboratory assistants are also quite knowledgeable. The faculty of B.Ed. is quite appreciable.

Hostel The college does not provide the facilty of Hostel for the students. Due to its small campus, the same could not be constructed. However, canteen is available for the staff and the students.

Overall The college is very good with all the possible advantages and various infrastructure. The environment inside the college is just awesome and cheerful.

Placement The college placement cell works very soothly and efficiently. The college placement records are good since 2012. Hence it is a very good college where placement is guaranteed

Infrastructure The college has very wifi and various projects and cultural programmes. It also has a very large auditorium where live events and concerts and various workshops are held

Faculty The faculty members are highly qualified and are very good and helpful. They works efficiently and are very kind towards the students. Nonetheless the best faculties are here

Hostel The college hostel is not very far awaf from the college campus. The hostel is neat and clean and the students and seniors are very helpful and are very good by heart
