Adarsh Arts & Commerce College (AACC) Gadchiroli
Desaiganj (Wadsa), a Tahasil place situated on the bank of Wainganga River on the borders of Chandrapur, Bhandara and Gondia Districts, had no facility of higher education in any stream 25 years ago. The rural-tribal people residing in the area of 10 to 12 Kilometers around were leading most backward life, far back from today’s knowledge-oriented modern society, encircled by many social evils, superstitions, outdated customs, etc. They were unable to send their children for higher education in the colleges situated far away from their native places due to poverty and lack of awareness. Deeply touched by the backward condition of these residents our management, i.e., Nutan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, founded in 1963, realized the urgent need of the facility of higher education in the area. Having the experience in the field of education, being already running one high school and junior college, since 1958 and 1984 respectively, the management decided to start senior college. Thus Adarsh Arts & Commerce College came into existence in Desaiganj in 1989-90.To become quality conscious and to ensure quality in all programmes and extension activities. To create awareness about the importance of higher education, employment, Self -employment among the rural, tribal, backward people of the area.Keeping ahead these aims and objectives the institution worked hard since the beginning. To bring about the overall personality development of the students and to make them fit to face the challenges of the modern competitive world has been the prime concern of the institution. The institution is also much aware of the need of the students for the employment and self-employment and Self-employment. For this the college has adopted various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and seriously implemented them for the sake of the students and the society.
