NID Ahmedabad Admission 2024 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

NID Ahmedabad Admissions 2023 - NID DAT 2023 M.Des mains result has been declared. Candidates can check out the result on the official website. The institute will consider NID DAT 2023 scores for NID Ahmedabad admissions 2023.  

National Institute of Design Ahmedabad is the only NID campus that offers Bachelor of Design (B.Des). The 4-year programme is offered in 8 disciplines at NID Ahmedabad along with the M.Des programme. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria prescribed for the courses before moving forward with the NIF Ahmedabad Application Process. Admission to eligible candidates is offered on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam conducted by NID at the national level. To apply for the B.Des course at NID Ahmedabad, candidates must follow the below mentioned process:

• Register/Sign up 
• Candidates need to register or sign up on the official site of the institute with a valid email address and an active mobile number. 
• Login credentials will be sent to the candidate's registered email address.
• Save the email for future reference.
• In B.Des, the Application Fee for General/General-EWS/OBC-NCL categories is Rs. 3,000 and the registration fee for SC/ST/General-PwD/General-EWS-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/SC-PwD/ST-PwD is Rs. 1,500. For Overseas candidates, the application fee is Rs. 5,000.
• In M.Des, the Application Fee for General/General-EWS/OBC-NCL categories is Rs.6,000 and the registration fee for SC/ST/General-PwD/General-EWS-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/SC-PwD/ST-PwD shall be Rs. 3,000. For Overseas candidates, the application fee is Rs. 10,000.

For Online Application

• Log in and proceed
• Fill in all the respective details
• Click on "Save and Proceed" to go to the next section.
• Click 'Save and Exit' to complete the application form at a later time or date.

Payment of Fee

Candidates may either pay online or offline- 

For candidates paying online: 

• Candidates will be directed to the payment gateway. After completing the payment process, candidates will be redirected to the 'Print' section where the form must be saved. Printout of the same shall be taken. 
• Candidates need not send a soft copy of the application form if they are making an online payment through a Credit and Debit Card. 

For candidates paying offline:

Prepare a Demand Draft of the amount in favour of the "All India Management Association" payable at New Delhi. Fill in the details of the Demand Draft in online mode to submit it. Save the application process as a PDF file and take a printout of it which shall be done before the given date.

NID Ahmedabad B.Des Eligibility Criteria 2023

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Des programme must fulfil the criteria given below:

Education Qualification:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 or will appear for the same in the current academic year in any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts, Humanities, etc.) from any recognised board of education like CBSE, IB, ICSE or their equivalent. 
• Candidates who have not passed their final board exam or equivalent before the counselling conducted in person shall not be eligible for admission. 

Age Limit:

• For Indian Nationals in Reserved Categories like Other Backward Class- Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC), only those born on or after July 1, 1999, shall be held eligible for admission. 
• For Indian Nationals in General Category and General EWS Category, only those candidates born on or after July 1, 2002, shall be held eligible for admission. 

All candidates applying for the M.Des programme must meet the eligibility criteria of both age and education qualification.

Age Limit:

• For Indian Nationals in General Category & General EWS Category, candidates born on or after 1 July 1992 shall be eligible to apply for the programme. 
• For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (OBC-Non Creamy Layer)/SC/ST: Candidates born on or after 1 July 1989 are eligible to apply for admission.
• For Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1987 can apply for the M.Des programme. 
• For Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1992 may apply for admission. .

Educational Qualification:

Apart from the age criteria, candidates also have to meet the minimum educational qualifications:

• Candidates must have passed a minimum 4-year Bachelor degree after 10+2 or equivalent to 10+2 from any recognised institute or university, OR
• Candidates must have passed a 3-year duration Bachelor degree in any specialisation after 10+2, OR
• Candidates who have qualified a full-time diploma of not less than 4-year duration in Fine Arts/Design/Applied Arts/Architecture after 10+2 or equivalent to 10+2 from a recognised institute or university recognised by law in India are also eligible. 
• Candidates who are in the final of their Bachelor degree/Full-time diploma course or awaiting results are also eligible to apply provided they do not have any backlog. The candidate must also submit the provisional degree certificate at the time of NID counselling. 

NID Ahmedabad B.Des/M.Des Selection Process 2023

Admission to all the programmes at NID Gandhinagar shall be on the basis of the candidates' performance in the Design Aptitude Test. The same must have two stages which will evaluate the candidate's skills, knowledge and behavioural abilities of candidates.
