The Sikkim Manipal University was established in 1995 vide the Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences Act (Act No. 9 of 1995). SMU is recognized by the University Grants Commission under Section2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 vide letter No. F.9-7/96(CPP-I) dated 9th Dec 1998 and approved by the Government of India. 10+2

An eligible candidate for admission into the BCA program should have passed. Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination with 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC) marks in Science, Arts, and Commerce streams. (45% for SC/ST/OBC) marks in Science, Arts, and Commerce streams.

A candidate needs to pass 10+2 or equivalent from any stream from recognized Board/ University with 50% marks in aggregate for general (5% relaxation for North Eastern States ST, SC & OBC)

A candidate should have passed a 10+2 with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics.

A candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in the case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the qualifying examination.
