Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College was established in the year 2003 and is considered one of the top Ayurveda colleges in Karnataka and India. The Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College courses are only available to interested applicants at the undergraduate level, or BAMS. Ayurvedic medicine and surgery are the areas of specialisation for the programme. For this course, 100 seats in total are made available to applicants. Students can take the BAMS course at AAMC Bangalore in an offline, conventional manner. The AAMC Bangalore programme lasts 4 years, 6 months, plus an additional year of required internship time. Candidates must be eligible for the course at least in part, as determined by the college. The candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects for the AAMC Bangalore course. Additionally, they must have passed the NEET UG entrance exam; admission is provided by the Bangalore-based Karnataka Examination Authority.

Every year, candidates can submit an application through the official website for Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College admission to the undergraduate programme. In the ayurvedic medicine and surgery specialisation at the college, there is only one course offered. Candidates must meet the prerequisites for the course in order to submit an application for admission to the institute. The qualifying test must have been taken in class 12 or its equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the three primary subjects, and the candidate must have obtained at least 45% of the possible points.
