Classroom

The teaching methodology adopted at our college is intensive as well as extensive class-room teaching involving active participation of the students. Theoretical class room teaching is supplemented by clinical legal work. It also includes preparation of project reports, project presentations, submission of assignments, participation in seminars, moot courts and mid-term exams. The best students are rewarded for their academic and professional performances.

Library

The richness of an institute lies in its well-equipped library, which is the 'heart' of any Academic institution. Keeping this in view, a spacious air conditioned library and a reading hall are available. The Library has a rich collection of text books, reference books, national and international journals, manuals, periodicals, magazines and newspapers besides an e-library with printing and photocopying facilities. This is further augmented by a Student Research Cell to enable students to study till late evening. The Institute Library has more than 1100 books and has subscribed to the following online legal databases:

Computer Lab

The Institute has a fully functional computer lab with 20 Computers. Students are motivated to develop interest in computer and information technology, to enable them to face today's competitive world. The institute subscribes to websites like manupatra.com, westlaws.com and SSC online along with a collection of CD ROMs related to law, such as Supreme Court Case Finder etc. All the students are well acquainted with the application of latest technology in the field of law. Facilities like Internet, through Leased Line and LCD projectors etc., are provided to students. The Network Administrator assists the students in the use and application of computers and Information technology. The Internet facility is also extended to the Student Research Cell and other areas of campus through Wi-Fi. All the computers are networked with GIGABIT LAN and the campus is Wi -Fi enabled with 2 Mbps leased line for 24 hours. All students are provided with unique email id for having anytime access to institute related information. To provide secure Internet connectivity the Institute is having Cyberoam (Unified Threat Management System) at its premises. It is an appliance that delivers real-time network protection against evolving Internet threats through unique user based policies. These hardware firewalls safeguard the network from the outside threats and intrusions. Use of IT facilities requires prior registration and the granting of a user code or an individual password.

Moot Court

Spacious Moot Court with a capacity of 60 students and having all the facilities to give a simulation of live case studies.

Student Amenities

Postal Facilities: 

All postal facilities are available at East Kolkata Township P.O. located nearby. Besides there is an arrangement with DTDC so that members of faculty, staff and students can also avail themselves of courier services.

Banking

Punjab National Bank is located within the campus with ATM facility for the benefit of students and members of staff. It also extends various soft loans.

Health Care: 

A medical unit is available in the campus besides arrangements with hospitals located nearby.

Transportation

Two way transportation is available from prominent locations in Kolkata at scheduled hours based on students' demand. Transport facilities for members of faculty and staff, as also for visitors, are available from the Traffic Island near Ruby General Hospital.

Electric Substation and Generator: 

The campus has its own electric substation with two transformers - 750 kVA and 630 kVA - and two gensets - 375 kVA and 380 kVA. These are maintained as per norms prescribed by the CESC authorities.

Central Computing Facilities: 

A Central Computer Centre is exclusively available to the students for net surfing and online study. All the computers are Wi-Fi connected with 30Mbps leased line for 24 hours. All students are provided with unique email id for having anytime access to institute related information.

Cafeteria

The Institute has an excellent cafeteria with a seating capacity for more than 200 persons. It has a well-planned hygienic kitchen run by a reputed caterer at administered prices. Multi-cuisine lunch and snacks are served in the cafeteria. The campus also has a fast food restaurant-cum-convenience store.

Dear student, The Heritage Law College which is under the University of Calcutta, grants admission to BA+LLB courses according to the Calcutta University norms. Therefore, to get admission to the BA+LLB course at Heritage Law College, you must pass the entrance exam conducted by the university. For Heritage Law College admissions, you may apply online through the University of Calcutta's official website. Single online applications are invited for admission to the 1st Semester of the 5-year B.A.LL.B. Course for the academic session 2023-2024. Students who have passed Class 12 or its equivalent from the Board recognised by the University of Calcutta can apply for admission. The number of seats available is 180 and the entry fee fo general is Rs 500.

Dear student,

In order to get admission in the BA LLB course of Heritage Law College, Kolkata, you will first have to check the eligibility criteria of the course. The eligibility conditions for the integrated law course of BA LLB at Heritage Law College state that you should have completed class 12th from a recognised board of education with at least 45% marks in aggregate. The candidates belonging to the categories of SC, ST and PwD must have at least 40% marks.

Apart from that, you will have to appear for the entrance test conducted by the college to shortlist candidates for the course. The dates of the entrance exam of Heritage Law College have not been announced yet and were postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country. After the entrance exam, you will have to attend the counselling process of Heritage Law College through which you will get final admission depending upon your score.
