However, the IEM-UEM Group has existed in Kolkata since 1989 as the Institute of Engineering and Management at Salt Lake. West Bengal Legislature passed the IEM Trust, Act No. XXV, 2014, to establish the university in the New Town area of Kolkata.

INTEGRATED PhD PROGRAMME 

The Institute has maintained top-class faculty members for the Doctoral courses. The UEM Kolkata Ph.D. programme is offered in 2 modes-Full time and part-time. In full-time mode, students should not be employed in any other organisation or should not study any other course till the completion of the course. 

In part-time mode, the student can devote his time to pursuing the programme and simultaneously discharge his official duty. Students pursuing a PhD programme should mandatorily undertake Research Methodology and Computer Applications.  

The beginning of classes for the Even Semester is February 14, 2023, and the beginning of classes for the Odd semester is July 25 2023. 1st Term examination for all classes commences on March 15 2023 – March 24 2023. • UEM Kolkata admission procedure is ongoing for 2022-2023.
• Admission eligibility to various B. Tech courses is a minimum score of 60% at a 10+2 level of education; the selection also depends on WBJEE/JEE Main score. The candidate must also have PCM in class 12.
• Admission eligibility to other undergraduate courses, including BCA, BBA is a minimum of 50% and 60% marks respectively at 10+2 level from a recognised university or equivalent.
• Various postgraduation courses like MBA and MCA require at least 50% minimum aggregate in graduation with state or national level examinations clearance. 
• For part-time executive MBA courses, the students should have scored at least 60% marks in class 10, class 12 and at graduation level.

Since the UEM Kolkata offers a host of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses, each course's eligibility criteria and the admission process is different. The admission process begins with downloading the application form, filling the form, and entering the preferred time slot and venue for courses requiring entrance exams.
